View Full Version : Boost gage(s) - Should I install boost gages for each side?

It almost seems like we're mechanically running 2 individual engines except for the crankshaft. If one turbo becomes weak, will the system let us know & cut the boost? :mech:

I guess it all depends on how fast your math is while accelerating. I see your point though.

If there is a way that would allow me to plug in to the port & record boost from both sides like the old Davis Car Chip that I still have, I could just pull it & quickly ck the charts. That chip doesn't do the parameters that I want on this car, but was pretty handy helping me catch my 16 year old Daughter going 106 mph to teach Sunday School in our Alms TT a few years ago.

I'm not even sure how you install a boost gauge for each bank. The ECU still treats boost as a combination of the two turbos despite being on separate banks. Example: only one MAP sensor, one N75 valve controlling both wastegates in unison. I guess you could tap into the vacuum line to each diverter valve.
