View Full Version : I think it may be time - to sell my RS6

When I originally bought my car I said I would keep it for 3 years and move on, or keep it for nearly 20 years like my first 911. I've decided to stick with the first option. Since I took delivery 3 years ago next week, the time has come. It has 2 years of warranty left, I replaced all the usual wear items, it's well cared for and is now dyno proven to be running correctly, and with a recent Eurocharge tune a real blast to drive. Just under 50k miles, looking to get low 30's, PM me for detailed service history. I'll be getting it detailed soon and taking fresh pics after that.

I have come to accept that anything even within 1.5 times my ability to afford it will be a performance let down and I have my eye on several vintage trucks that I can use for my business (read immediate deduction) and won't even be a temptation to try and drive like the beast begged. Right now I have neither the time, money nor garage space for 2 vehicles, so the RS needs to find a loving home.

I'm sure I'll still lurk on here either for picture Friday or just to harass MaxRS6 and DHall1 but not nearly as much. As a result I'll have more time to devote to my wife who I am told has been spending a lot of time in Arkansas, I need to put a stop to that.

Its a good thing the subject line has nothing to do with your car for sale. No buyers or searchers will find this thread and you will have to keep your car.

Max....send lil sis down there and knock some sense into Mr L.

Good luck with however it works out.

Sorry to hear that Bob. Just do what I do every time I decide to sell mine. Buy something for it. I admit it's not exactly spending money wisely, but it makes me want to keep my car for a while.

Looks GREAT! $7k in upgrades makes $33k a slam dunk!

Hmmm, makes mine with 10k in mods and 5 yrs of warranty a deal for 39k

On second thought. I think 45k for mine is more than fair.

hahah

It had the +1" DRC issues in the rear....
$42k is loco... unless it had 30,000 less miles...

Sad to hear you are letting go Bob. I certainly wish you well in the decision. Someone will be picking up a nice ride.

However; a new car means new car fever driving (aka while the mouse is away..;0).

Car was sold lock, stock and 2 smoking exhaust pipes, no leftovers, not even the RNS-E.

When I'm selling something, I do my homework. When I get an offer that's in the fat part of the curve, I take it, no sense screwin' around.

It's still in my garage and I miss it already. Hit home when I was cleaning her out and deleting entries in the nav and erasing the HomeLink buttons. :cry:sniff, sniff. Tomorrow it's gone for good. Feel good about sticking to my 3yr plan and selling it while it was perfect and under warranty. One of the best vehicles I've ever owned, took me faster than I've ever been. In spite of urban myth, the US versions do have a speed limiter, but it's not exactly at 155 as advertised. Tonight I tried something I've been wondering for a long time - there are 2 stop signs close together near my house. Always wondered if I could hit 60 and still stop at the next sign. Did it tonight on wet roads. MapPoint says it's 130yds.:addict: Try that in an M5 or EXX.

I'll post pic's of my new mount as soon as it's ready in a few months.
