This is a very enlightening read.
Just imagine how many Audi techs have never even browsed this.

My thoughts exactly. Once again we will be better informed than they are (or were). Great back pocket info. Thanks again.

Campaign Expires August 31, 2011 (from page 1).

I would say if you don't have this done already and have no issues with the "old" DRC you should arrange with a reputable dealer to get it done mid August 2011. Have them order the parts in advance -- and get an Alignment too when the DRC is done.

That way on the "New" DRC you should get 12 months / 12K miles warranty. :deal:

P.S. I love the Problem Description -- "Some RS6 owners have reported...."

It should have read: "MOST RS6 Owners have repeatedly complained......" :nana: :vgrumpy:

Thanks, this is a better copy of the photocopy I got from the dealer last summer! LOL I like the color photos better:)

Great stuff - how'd ya get it?

If a tech follows these instructions to the letter, the car will ride too high. They left out the part about settling the suspension before tightening. The only close mention is page 22 where they explain that the control arms should be tightened when the cars is resting on its wheels. Even if the tech reads these instructions, they will create a dissatisifed customer. Oops.

Don,

You noticed that as well. There are sections where the tech is told to torque the arms with the car in the air. Its no wonder 75% of the repairs are screwed up.

I blame this on AoA. Plain and simple. You got some pencil neck taking German instructions from Audi and translating into English. If that pencil neck was not a tech.....look out for what was lost in that head.

Oh mine has had the recall done it on and it rides nice. I meant it as I hope there will be no other issues with it since it's already been fixed. If something else happens I would just upgrade to KW. I loved them on my A4 and I never had any issues with them during 6 years. Hopefully though I wont need to even bother with that.

I'm preparing to throw a new twist into this "action" procedure concerning the refilling and repressurizing of our original central valves.

I think we've had our knobs polished. More to follow....

Does this replacement act work for Europe as well?

If I have another issue with the "New" DRC, Im not even taking it back to the dealer. Im replacing it with some KW V3, or PSS9's.

Doubt it. The US boys get special treatment.

Having said that, they won't be getting the new RS6.

Hold on, why does the procedure call for removing the whole strut mount and control arms? Doesn't make any sense. There's no need to remove them and this screws up the whole suspension geometry. Weird.

This is a great help to negotiate with Audi Japan on the DRC issue. By the way, I remembered there was a thread on the situation of DRC recall in UK or European country. In the thread, someone posted the letter from Audi UK (or European country). I did search, but could not find. Anyone help me to find the thread?
