Fellow Audi owner, for about 1 year on current car. But anyway currently I am drivin a 2001 Audi A6 4.2L in Nemo Blue Pearl. I love the fricken car, its been kind of a mess lately. I bought it from AutoTrader and well the car seemed perfect (the usual) After I bought it and really took a look into it and bringing to to my local Audi/VW friends shop we found issues, starting from the very front of the car:

1. Aux. Fan was jerry rigged (friend said it was to bypass replacing fan ecu unit) Aux. Fan Control Unit was out.
2. Yellow coolant in tank (Eventually lead to another problem)
3. Control arms (almost every bushing was torn and shot)
4. H&R Springs were cut than spacers were installed (horrible)
5. Car was in minor rear end accident (2.7 bumper was installed, rear wheel flare wasn't repaired right so now its bigger than it should come out
6. Sunroof was missing clip, so metal and metal hitting over bumps.
7. And few other interior and exterior flaws/issue\
8. Poorly maintained.

How this affect me in the long run (due to short funds, no prob experinced and numbers go in reference from above - These issues were months after.

1. Car over heated many times.
2. The yellow coolant disintegrated hoses, sprung pretty bad leak.
3. Clunk, shaky, unreponsive, poor handling, ect ride.
4. Car was still too low, hit a something and broke oil pan
5. Looks stupid.
6 & 7. I hate interior rattles and noise, so you could imagine.
8. Transmission gave out. Poor shifting, and jerks. Engine is strong with no issues. Power steering makes noise on cold days.
9. Front belt driven fan is stuck on
10. Driver side window jams and goes down.

How I handled these (took it out to the dessert and blew it up JK, no but here is what I did so far)

1. Aux. Fan with ECU purchased and installed
2. New coolant tank, flushed and get G12 Plus.
3. New control arms kit with upgraded tie rod plus OEM sport-struts installed
4. OEM Sport-Struts installed off other 4.2L A6 raised it back up
5. Working on it - Body work and paint renew on the way
6. Fixed a few rattles - still a few around. Dynamat and isolation miracle.
8. Transmission rebuilt with new torque converter and valve body modified so now I get faster, firmer, and strong shifts plus its smooooth.
9. I have the new fan clutch but still need bearing and braket.
10. Still haven't fixed but its on to do list.

Parts put in so far

1. Control Arm Kit
2. New front OEM Sport Struts
3. Starter
4. Spark plugs, air filter, and fuel filter
5. New coolant hoses
6. Seat switch and window switch
7. Coolant Expansion Tank with cap
8. Coolant temp sensor
9. Transmission mounts
10. Stern Pro Engine mounts

So thats pretty much it. Sucks cause it all happened after the fact It was purchased. But now its running strong and better than before thats for sure. I love the car, it handles pretty good and is pretty fast I raced a S4, C230 Komp, Mazda Speed6, 08 Mustang GT, and countless ricers and smoke all of them. Best of all I raced a Nissan GTR and kept up pretty good (No Lie!) at higher speeds that thing wasn't going anywhere. But I am looking to get a bit more power from it, like heres a list of parts getting.

Parts and Mods looking to do

1. Complete customer exhaust - Local Audi show owner is a expert on that.
2. GIAC Engine and Transmission ECU Upgrades
3. RNS-E Navigation
4. Xenon Fogs and LED tails
5. RS6 18x8.5 wheels 5-spokes
6. Koni Sport Strust with Springs.
7. Single piece drive shaft

Well thats me story.. Thats me car.
