looking like shit!! pre FL looked so much better! I mean look at those hideous rearview mirrors!! and the headlights mutilated so badly! they are losing the plot...

Really? The headlights look a lot like the current M3s and the RV mirrors don't look that bad (IMHO). Kind of half M3, half regular 3 Series. Nothing great, but not seeing the "shit". Overall kind of boring (i.e. safe) design.

Looks good to me. I think it's mastered the subtle-and-handsome design philosophy. Hmmm, wasn't Audi there 5 years ago?? Audi's cars today look great, yet I'm debating whether I actually favor their new design
