Chris Harris takes the Bugatti Veyron onto the autobahn at midnight to see just how fast she'll go.

may be he should testdrive the 150000 dollar electric Tango... weight is a ton and hp is 800 to a maximum of 2000... should be enough to be faster than the veyron....

Just watch the video. The point is that no other car will make that acceleration same way than veyron.

let's say...a bit faster than Veyron :)

Yes there are faster cars tha the Veyron, but I bet none of those other will feel one bit as exquisite as the Veyron, the challenge, in part, was to achieve that magical number...but with comfort, class and everyday driving comfort...these things I do not think you can get from that Shelby car, or the Caparo. Just my 2 cents.

Saludos.

Not true, not if we're talking about the one tested by EVO anyway.
And I haven't seen any other T1 figures.

Here are the figures, both from EVO. And bear in mind the Veyron tested by EVO is one of the slowest tested.

Manufacturer Bugatti
Model 16.4 Veyron
Tested by EVO
Power 1000 BHP

0 - 60 mph 2,8 s
0 - 100 mph 5,8 s
0 - 120 mph 7,9 s
0 - 130 mph 9,1 s
0 - 140 mph 10,5 s
0 - 150 mph 12,0 s
0 - 160 mph 13,9 s
0 - 170 mph 16,2 s
0 - 180 mph 19,1 s
0 - 190 mph 23,0 s
0 - 200 mph 28,6 s

0 - 402 m 10,5 s
0 - 402 m (speed) 140,2 mph

Manufacturer Caparo
Model T1
Tested by EVO
Power 610 BHP

0 - 60 mph 3,8 s
0 - 100 mph 6,2 s
0 - 120 mph 7,8 s
0 - 130 mph 8,9 s
0 - 140 mph 10,1 s
0 - 150 mph 11,6 s

0 - 402 m 12,1 s
0 - 402 m (speed) 121,1 mph

And please remember acceleration (speed) and who is first over the line is not always the same thing. As can be seen on the quarter mile time.

yes my sentence was based on the over 100mph acceleration
and look 60-150mph time...t1 will be faster with a better start

the veyron was given by the owner but i don't think it had less power...

Perhaps the T1 will be faster, but the Veyron has proved it over and over.

The T1 still has a lot to prove IMO. I know of one measurement only, and that is the one in EVO.

And needless to say, a Veyron would be quite more practical not to say comfortable.
A T1 on the road? I don't think so. :nono:

And check the quarter mile time again. That is a HUGE difference in distance.
Up in speed I'm sure the torque of the W16 + turbos would kill the T1.

I prefer T1 :hahahehe:

About 0-400mt test...to me is a wrong data..I have in the superspeed club test vs caterham levante 11,6s time..the exit speed written is 201,65km/h...instead in the acceleration chart the 0-240km/h is 11,6....exit speed from 400mt of veyron is 224,3km/h

Theoretical capability of the caparo.:jlol:
They've had quite a bit of problems keeping the test cars in 1 piece.

But still two different worlds. Caparo is a racer.
Veyron is a GT.
Maybe the Caparo will be faster up to some point. But the Veyron can still go on after that.

The main point the host made was that you'll probably be bouncing in your seat feeling all the racer in the caparo but not very comfortable where the Veyron does absurd speeds and accelerations in all comfort.

Obviously the Veyron launches faster, it's AWD.

Veyron: 60-100mph 3.0s, 100-150mph 6.2s
Caparo T1: 60-100mph 2.4s, 100-150mph 5.4s

As regards your posted quarter mile time, not sure how the T1 hits 150mph before it hits 121mph.

Should be 11.0@143mph

Very true but on a lap, all acceleration is done from a roll, not to mention that the T1 will round each corner about 30mph faster than the Veyron anyway.

We'll see how fast it laps the 'ring in spring.:hihi:

yes, opposite target however if I have to decide :) my choice will be caparo t1 instead veyron

and the running costs of veyron are just....incredible :)

Sorry, probably a mistake in the copy + paste.

Looking forward to seeing the laptime as well, if it's not sub 7 mins I think there's room for huge disappointment considering the time of the Gumpert.

It's about 3s/minute quicker than the SR8 LM, so yes, it will definitely be quicker than 7 minutes and the only Porsche it won't beat was driven by Stefan Bellof.:hihi:

+1

You can do that (the speed part), go to a good restaurant as classy as you can get, turn on the air conditioning to not sweat on your suit (yeah, Brazil is always hot), drive slowly at the city listening to a spectacular sound system, and so on and on.

Even 4 cylinders street legal dragsters are faster, but what it means?! :brag:
