Hi Guys,
I have owned my 03 RS6 for 9months now and only driven it 2000kms as one thing breaks after another and i am really not impressed wih the car or the serivice i receive at the audi dealership that i got to. One example is when i had to get my rear sunblind fixed, i was told not to use it anymore, by the guy at the service desk, and it should fine. To me that is definitely not good enough. I didnt pay 80 thousand dollars for a car that i cant use things on.
I would like to write an email of complaint to Audi.Could anyone point me in the right direction to where i go or who i should see about this?
I was after the contact details for the Ceo or the head person in Audi New Zealand. Or even someone in Audi Head office in Germany.
If you guys have any other suggestions or ideas on what i should do, your help will be very much appreciated.
Thanks again,
Raj

1. If you only have owned it for 9 months, I certainly hope you didn't pay $80k for it.

2. I suspect we're not getting the complete story on your rear sunshade issue. It, possibly, was something like "it doesn't work - I want it fixed" - "it's going to cost you $X since the warranty has expired" - I don't want to pay that" - "then don't use it and you'll be fine".

If not, then find another dealer.

3. From your e-mail, it is not clear what other issues you are having with the car, but I'd be willing to bet they are mostly known issues that had you spent an hour or two Googling before purchasing a true supercar and assuming all of the peculiarities and maintenance issues that come with them, you either would not have purchased the car or would not be surprised by them. Caveat emptor.

4.I don't know the contact info you're seeking but even if I did and proffered it you'd only be wasting your time and consuming valuable Al Gore created internet electrons in the process.

5. In the US, and I suspect in New Zealand as well (or maybe for all of down under) there is a contact number for a customer relations specialist for at least all RS customers (whether original or subsequent) and possibly even one for each model, that will gladly help you with any issues you may be having. If you will search this forum for RS6 specialist, concierge, ombudsman, liason or something like that, you may well find the one for the US, and maybe they can direct you to their counterpart for your part of the world. Tye number and name I have, hopefully still valid, is Dwayne 800-822-2834.

6. I think you will find the members on this forum to be helpful and an incredible wealth of knowledge if you approach with the right attitude as most of us here are crazily, irrationally and hopelessly in love with our beasts, but coming in cold and trashing the car and its creator will not get you far.

Perhaps before jumping on the poor new zealander about what he paid for the car, you could first figure in the US dollar to NZ dollar conversion... $80,000 NZD is $57,000 USD... Pricey, but who knows what the markup is on vehicles in new zealand.

If I recall correctly, someone mentioned the new NSX in australia was something stupid expensive like $150,000 USD vs. $88,000 USD in the usa. so that may be the price differential.

im sorry if i came off as if i was bagging rs6's or audi. i assure u, i was not. totally the opposite.
i have loved audi's since i was i young boy. So much so that i saved my pennys with the intent of buying one someday. I am currently a aircraft engineer and i make a decent living. So i finallly had saved enough to buy the flagship of audis. the rs6! And yes its costs 80k NZD that does include all the extras like warranty etc. Unfortunatly i have had a horror of a run with it. And i am wanting to raise these issues with someone that will be able to help me.

ill just try and clear up some of the raised issues
1. 80k NZD Car+Warranty and the other bits and bobs. thats about 55k-57k in USD
2. The rear blind was fixed then i was told when i went to pick it up, that if you dont use it it shouldnt break. In NZ its not as easy as going to find another dealer. i beleive im stuck with this one.
3.i wouldnt have spent that much of my hard earned money on a car i hadnt researched before hand. i was totaly aware of the drc issue and other minor things.
4.all im asking is if anyone can suggest where or to whom i can raise the issues i have been having with not only my car but the staff at audi.
5.That is a very good idea and i will try going through that route. hopefully i will find a resolution.
6. I had no intention of coming off rude or disrespectful. I do apologise for this im just really frustrated and abit disappointed that the car of my dreams is a lemon.

i would gladly list the problems ive had with my car and the rings iv had to run around with the staff i deal with if it would help to better understand my troubles.
Once again i am very sorry if i offended anyone.

When the C5 RS6 went on sale in NZ in 2003, its list price was NZ$260,000. At current exchange rates, that's US$182,000. Welcome to our world...(but there are other benefits of being here :)) Apparently 53 were sold in NZ.

Used RS6's with about 60,000 miles are now selling for around NZ$60K or US$42K. If khello got a very low mileage absolutely pristine car, he might have had to go to $85K.

Khello - who is your current dealer/service agent?

Hey! I work in NZ on and off...Seems to me NZ is full of used RHD Japanese cars, maybe that's the provenance of your RS6?

Love watching lowered Subaru Foresters roll by with wastegates hissing on Queensland Boulevard.

Anyway, it seems to me that some RS6's are lemony, some are solid. It's an awesome piece of engineering that can be your best friend or your worst enemy, or both.

+1 on our German friends for giving you numbers. Good luck, but know that you're going to have bugs and frustrations. Get a set of tools, or get out your checkbook, or both. Don't be disillusioned with the bugs. Anything worth having comes at a cost!

I usually stay in Auckland at the hotel DeBrett. I'll buy you a lager next time I'm in town.

I friggin love your country, FWIW! :) Go All Blacks!!!
