I did a search, but came up only with some info from almost 2 yrs ago ...

Finally considering ordering VAG-COM (have only owned the car for 5+ yrs ). Which type Ross-Tech interface best suits 2003 RS6. My laptop has both serial and USB ports.

Thanks in advance

Go with the USB as Serial will be dead in a couple of years. I think you want the KEY/KII-USB

USB is the way to go.

Is this the right one? http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/kii-usb.html

Are there any advantages (for 2003 RS6) to this one?

http://www.ross-tech.com/vcds/canbus.html leads me to believe the first choice will give the same functionality on our cars but I want to be sure and have input from other users.

Yea, there are a couple more things you can do with the Hex-Can and if you have or plan on having a newer Audi/VW you should definitely go with the Hex-Can.

Absolutely agree. All later cars need CAN.
