Bear in mind, that Veyron has the slowest 0-200 mph time ever officially recorded...

It has indeed, but it's still insanely fast. :D

The GT-R does a 100 mph when it goes past, 175 mph when the Veyron passes it. But the Veyron is doing 202 mph...

off topic- but i truly don't think i've ever had a conversation with a single GTR driver that was likeable. they are so socially self conscious and insecure that they remind me of some porsche drivers. (flame suit on)

Oh, STFU.

I swear this place is circling the drain to become as equally lame as every other car forum out there.

A lot of the earlier press cars seem a little bit quicker than customer cars. That one on Top Gear fairly struggled against a McLaren F1.

I wonder if they'll bring it back and pit it against an M600 from a launch and then from a roll.:hahahehe:

I don't give much for Top Gear "testing"... it's all show.

I think you have to consider the fact that the two cars didn't start at the same time. :)

Well there you go, without the launch control, the Veyron's lower power-to-weight ratio and turbo lag holds it back. Take the launch out of the equation and it's 560bhp/ton vs 500bhp/ton (and AWD dual-clutch transmission losses). That's the great thing about the McLaren, no lag, instant response and immense flexibility - 50-70mph in 3.7s in 6th gear (30mph/1000rpm). However, the Veyron is definitely a better car for the common man and is a technological marvel.

I think the purpose of the Evo (GTR vs Veyron) article was to compare them for pace on a Welsh B-road. That was a rather different story...
