After further driving and also letting a buddy of mine drive (he owns a performance shop - Imports though) We both came to the conclusion that 1st Gear and all the way to middle of 2nd is actually still about the same as stock...end of 2nd and up is where the car really unleashses HELL! Also noticed that the car seemed quicker when just hitting the gas half way down rather than flooring it.

The exhaust tone is noticeably louder (much more like a Vette now) and the tips are about 20% bigger than stock tips...didnt measure the tips side by side (the service director took my old exhaust and is going to slap it on his A6 4.2)

Got my 1st M5 Kill yesterday!

Red Light, we both take off (I had my A/C on, if you're in the DC area then you know why). The M5 jack rabbits about 1/2 car ahead and actually pulls on me till about middle of 1st gear, then by the end of 1st I'm creeping back and roughly by 3rd gear is when I was about 1 car ahead and by end the end of 3rd I was pulling but not sure how far ahead it was (I would guesstimate about 6 to 7 cars - damn this CHIP and exhaust set up is NICE) and around 120 we shut it down...gave each other thumbs up and went our ways.

Any of you thinking of modding...this setup is a MUST...I am now actively looking for a E55 to run with!

Ok so you're Dinan5 at AW!

I'm a bit surprised by your report, as, from what I have read here, there and everywhere, the RS6 is at it's strongest on pull off.
Did you left-foot-brake rev the car up to 2000 rpm, at the start?

However, 7 car lengths ahead of the M5 after what seems to be a slow start is very impressive.

Also, from what I read on your post, it may be that your new chip/ecu/less back pressure from the exhaust may need some adaptation time and eventually you will find that even in 1st and second you'll be quicker than stock.
On my S6, the adaptation time for the ECU and other mods was about 1200 km/745 miles, but it is a NA engine.

Yes, that's me on AW.

I didn't do any "power braking" because I wanted to see what the chip and exhaust did for the car.

I still feel that the car's strongest gears are 3rd and higher, even after 400 or so miles after chip install.

I took a few Audi and VW buddies out for a spin and they agreed that 1st and 2nd gear felt laggy but 3rd is where the car really took off.

AvusRS6,

It sounds like your dealer installed the chip and exhaust. If so I am wondering if they said anything about the warranty...I am just trying cross reference what I was told bu an AoA factory rep.

It really boils down to how much your dealer is willing "to play ball" with you. My Service Director and other techs and I have developed a very good relationship and they are fully aware of the situation and told me not to worry about it...I got the Director's blessings!

as AvusRS6 in my RS 6 and I find that the cooler climate here in Rochester, NY really is a big plus in all the gears ! I have not found any willing victims at the stoplight yet, unless you count a bright red Cavalier Z 24.

Since my last post of a little more than an hour ago, I had to mail some letters at the post office. I made a special effort to take the RS 6 because it has the best lights in the fleet. I really hate driving at night.

I was sitting there at a stoplight minding my own business and I hear this Ford Probe next to me reving up his motor. When I say reving, I mean reving. I looked over there to see a 19 year old kid with his girlfriend.

The light turns green and I gave it just enough gas to let this guy think that he won the race. This earned me a big grin, and a big thumbs up.

I'll bet he's on the Probe.com forum right now telling everyone about his conquest.

Avus:cheers: ,
I'm glad to hear you like your mods. It would be something i would consider as well but as you pointed out it depends on how much your dealer is willing to "play ball". Mine doesn't sound like they would want to warraty The Beast should anything go wrong. If they change their mind than:bow: i'll get it done for sure. If not, then i won't risk the warranty.

P.S. O.CT:cheers: Nice to have another Audi specialist on board:cheers: (just read about your beast of a S4 in European Car magazine)

What CPU and Exhaust did you chose?

Have the same feeling on the throttle response. The car feel quicker when the gas paddle is in half way down. But this happen to me when the car is stock. Now after the mod. the car is so much more responsive. :rs6kiss:
