Anyone seen one before?
This is on my car but Doc Weiner installed it years ago.

Hmm, weird, I have two friends with A6 4.2's that have that surround. I just assumed it was standard.

It's a stock part, found on any C5 A6 pre 2002. I actually almost did this from my friends 01, but decided it wouldn't look as good.

Check out the pre 02 C5's. I dont know if this is the same. I could have sworn doc gave me the box for the part because I still have the stock one in that box. It was an aftermarket box.
Still the carbon "like" weave matches the Hella tails. I like it. SAF was jumping up and down like a kid in the candy store. :incar:

Sorry for the confusion p3u:bow: Both my buddy's drive '01 4.2's, so I just assumed that was the only place they were offered.

You sure those are CARBON? I don't recall ever seeing one in person....

They are not carbon, they just look like carbon. The whole point of the center piece is to match the Hella OEM tails.

If the one I saw on DHall's car was not carbon, I must be crazy. But that's OK, because it will be a fraction of the price!

Had a '99 a6 2.8 with it. Definatley not carbon. Had to replace mine after a lifted truck backed into it in a lot. Can't remember costs, a local body shop got one for me from salvage. It would really match the Hellas nice.
