Sounds good.

Very good. The key is the price...If it is more than LP 560.

Yeah the spec is kind of similar to an LP560 weight-wise and power-wise.

should cost above the V10 but below 200K USD since i assume it will come std with CC brakes.

in the US i'd venture 150K. still well below the old GT2 yet faster.

Basically a LP560/4 in an Audi suit. :jlol:

Should be a quite a bit quicker on the track than the Gallardo based on what we see between the LP560 and the R8V10 but whether it will be as quick as the GT2 Mk2 on similar tracks we will have to see.

Should be close.

Its a stupid and brain dead configuration on Audi's part. They need to make the Audi R8GT into a direct competitor to the Porsche GT3 or GT3RS. This would lead to many more sales when they represent a similar class. The GT3's market represent the big numbers and the true hard driving lovers. Who cares about Lamborghini. Its a poser's car. Audi is missing a HUGE opportunity in passing up on matching the Porsche GT3. This would be the most natural rivalry in the whole sports car business. And please don't compare to GT2's. Very few serious drivers drive GT2's.

key word is basically- but i think it has been shown that the R8 chassis and suspension are somehow better than the lambo's.

and the most important thing ----- it can be had in a manual.

I dont think an r8 gt would be a match for the gt2.
not in strightline acceleration nor in a lap time.

And dont wanna know whath the new upcoming gt2 rs or mk2 what ever its called will do to ist competitors...

GT2- 3200 lbs 530 hp

if R8 GT- 3300-3400 lbs 560 hp, but handles better it can def beat the GT2 ring time, despite the torque differences. but we'll see. final specs for the car aren't out yet.

a 560 hp 3300 lb R8 will be extremely fast. faster than the 997.2 TT around the ring imo. and faster than the GTR around the ring.

February 12th, 2010, 13:10
I dont think we will see this in Geneva, im guessing probably towards later in the year. Audi is having it;s audience soak with the V10 R8 and Spyder for a while until they release this beast.

What i would love to see in the R8 GT (im definitely way off but this is my wish)

3300lbs
4.5L TwinCharged V8 - 545hp
S-tronic
AWD

After test driving the R8 v10 yesterday. I want to buy an R8 and put an RS6 tuned engine in one. My version of the RS8. Does any one want to help? I can fine R8's to 100k, Where can I find a complete RS6 Engine?

You can tune the R8 V10 NA engine up to 600 hp.
With bi-supercharger up to 740 hp.

And with bi-turbo up and beyond 1000 hp.

Why change a complete engine. ?

Very good points. But I would have a truly unique vehicle. Cost of the project under $140, :R8kiss:And I love my RS6 and the way the power comes on.

The engine is appearing in some of Audis data.

Engine code : CMPA
5.2L V10
560ps
Model: R8 GT quattro

Production begins November 2010

..also on the listing an updated 4.2 engine for R8 producing 430ps. (thought they would have put an RS5 equalling 450ps unit in as an update)
Production of that begins July 2010.

Twin charged V8 would not be a light engine at all, likely heavier than the V10 version. Certainly the R8 would have to lose a lot of luxury to reach that weight.
