Well my new car is perfect except the squeel of the brakes and the rotors are really grooved.

where is the best place to order the oem rotors and pads without the stupid brass screws?

I am hoping my local shop can install them.

As I said in your other thread.

We have a huge database of diy threads.

Search

"EBC reds"

"Brake pads"

ya I did search and you are right those 2 links pretty much cover it.

I posted the pics on audizine in the rs6 section.

I guess I will change them in the spring when I open the windows again.

I might as well just trash the pads and rotors since they have the deep grooves and squeel. It will only be a noise issue.

Looks like 336 per rotor and 130 for the front pads. I am sure my shop accross the street will cahrge me 200 so should be a bit over 1100.00

Thanks for the tips!

Ok good.

You may try and measure the rotor thickness. You can resurface those rotors. Did you know that? Its worth a quick measure now before more damage is done.

good luck

I just checked your pics at AZ.

Nice choice to buy the 69k car with Fidelity coverage. It looks nice.

Enjoy

Speaking of brake noise, about a week ago my (new to me) B5 S4 started some of the most horrendous squealing I've ever heard. Pulled the wheels and confirmed that pads are relatively new, so I am trying to avoid new pads at this point.

I know my service dept uses BG's Stop Squeal and Brake Lube, so I picked some up. Does anyone have experience with this product and it's successes or failures? I'm not driving the car until I cure this, so I hope to do it one afternoon this week.

I would try and rebed the pads before throwing the snake oil at it.

60-10mph 6 times without stopping and then a 1/2hr easy drive in the country without stops.

Yeah, I actually was going to try that first but failed to mention it. This $10 treatment kit was really going to be an experiment of sorts, but since it requires total disassembly I may just throw some new EBCs on it while it's apart and be done with it. :)

Dave, I may call you later today if you'll be around.
