Nice overall, though I would like it more if the taillights were normal.

you could use chalk to write notes on the side to your pals or $hitty drivers....

This gives me an idea for my Wife's Black Allroad!! I have some 18" wheels that need refinishing from the RS6. I wonder if she would notice?? Does the flat paint help against radar??

Looks more of a satin black than matte (flat) black. Has a beautiful sheen to it-looks alive, esp with those fender flares-Love it!!!

Hate flat black, love satin black. I would hate to have to care for either finish, though. I'd like to see how it looks next year! I'm assuming it's vinyl wrapped, so I guess you could always re-wrap sections that take a beating.

The finish will certainly help somewhat against LIDAR (laser), but I don't think radar would be much effected (unless it's got a super-secret ferrous component in it ala SR-71 "blackbird"). The lights/LP would haved to "veiled" to reduce their infrared signature, though. A laser jammer would also help. Other than that--total stealth!

interesting -- I'm going right past the Air Force museum between Omaha & Lincoln Nebraska tomorrow or Saturday. I might stop to inspect the SR 71 they have on display. You can get close enough to check out the color & finish.

Alright, now I'm drooling! That's like the meanest plane ever!
Never got to see one in the flesh. Heard lots of stories, though, from a colleague who was a Navy fighter pilot way back when and my uncle who use to work on them even further back. That thing in un-effin-believable! The published stats grossly underestimate that bird's true capabilities. :harass:
Best I've seen were some F-22s and 117s. I should've asked for some touch-up paint for the 117 :hahahehe:, like, a few gallons...

We had an SR 71 pilot speak (more like "tell stories") at a meeting a few years ago. Very interesting. hope the link works.
