Does anyone run with 20s? Can you post a pic? Is there rubbing with the stock suspension? Is the ride quality compramised? Significantly so?

Related question: Whether 19" or 20" rims, what's the widest rim/tire combo you can fir on the C5 without rubbing? I like the "steamroller" look! :love2: Can anyone with wider-than-stock rims/tires post a pic? Thanks. GBG

I ran 20s on my 4.2 for awhile, they were 8.5 width front and 9.5 rear, with 15mm spacers. I have Koni shocks & eibach springs, and it was a pretty harsh ride. I think you could fit 20x 9.5 front and 20x 10.5 rear, but that's just my theory, and you may rub a bit. Have to get the offset just right. And you'll definitely rub in the front during turning if the suspension compresses enough. I think someone was running 10.5 rears on their beast somewhere on here, no?

20s = NO

19s = YES

9.5 with a 30et is the best fit.

MTM Bimoto's.

Search is your friend.

275/30/19s fit just fine on the above 9.5s.

I went from my 20s to 18s, as the ride was so harsh, and 20" + rain or snow= scarry. I think the 19" MTM bimotos are some of the best looking wheels

A friend of mine rides 265/30 r20 8.5x20 on his RS6 C5 with no problem so I don´t see the point why not. I will go also on 20 ich the next year.

20's - no way for me. Too little sidewall for a heavy car, will bend rims.

19" is the ideal size for a variety of reasons. I'm running 20", they LOOK very, very good and if all you ever do is stare at your car then I say you can probably even fit 21" in there. However, if you're ever going to drive the car, go for 19".

As some others have mentioned, ride issue, tire costs is another factor. The cost between a 20" tire and 18" or 19" is quite significant. And if you ever want to be aggressive with your driving, like taking it onto a track, def. go with 18 or 19.

I went for forged Rays...2X the strength of cast wheels. You do have to work your way around the pot holes though. At least we don't have frost heaves in the roads down here...

yet somehow Houston's got some pretty shite roads ;-)

I still remember sitting in the car with E watching an R8 practically fall into a manhole size pothole around the Galleria. Good times. :jlol::jlol:

Hey - at least the ground doesn't open up on its own accord and swallow entire city blocks!

I'm on the Sportec 20's. Generally a harsh ride, and I think it perhaps hastened the failure of the DRC. I don't regret going to them, but I am also pretty careful looking out for potholes and other irregularities in the roads.

Where to buy MTM Wheels in the States?

There are a few retailers in the US, Autospeed performance, and Hoppen Motorsports. You may be able to buy them directly from MTM as well. They make a 19x9.5, and a 20x9, but the 20" is forged and WAAY expensive. I'd go with 19", I went from 20" to 18" due to the harsh ride and changed suspension geometry that reduces handling. Good luck!

ya, there's a reason why 18" is stock but 19" is the "compromise" between performance/price/aesthetics!

Hoppen's web site shows them for $3100 / set. including shipping. I see they offer 3 choices for finish. I'm wondering about the diamond cut. I have a lot of experience machining aluminum. Using diamond tipped tools can give an awesome look if properly done. I haven't seen it offered very often.
