Hello,

For a few months I've been working at auto motor & sport Turkey magazine. I had prepared an article on double clutch transmissions, and it was published, but only a very small fraction of it. So, I decided to edit it and publish online. Unfortunately, article's in Turkish. Nevertheless, I decided to extract some various facts about current DCT offering brands and put them on a table. It has some empty, and maybe some erroneous sections; I'm still working on it. Plus, It needs to be regularly updated. Thus, any correction or addition will be greatly appreciated. Here you go:

This could be a nice addition? Also the new McLaren will have double-clutch, developed by themselves.

The ATM Paddelshift system features a completely new gearbox design, which has been developed for the CCX. The gearbox is engineered to take up to 1100 nm of torque and due to its transversal layout, it is about 30 cm shorter then the manual transaxle gearbox it replaces, which improves weight distribution. The gearbox features a revolutionary synchronization system that allows shift times of 30 milliseconds - a great improvement, compared to existing synchromesh system. Basically it is as fast as a dual clutch transmission, but reduced in size and weight – two important factors in a Supercar.

The gearbox also include an electronic differential control. The E-diff, makes the car easier to drive on the limit of performance, and thereby enhances the experience to most drivers. The gearbox is controlled with ergonomic paddles mounted on the steering wheel. Koenigsegg believes this to be the most optimal solution, as the paddles follow the steering wheel movements at all times.

McLaren's already listed in the table.

Thanks for the info on Koenigsegg, I'll review my article.

Interesting but I would like to see and change times as well..

Unfortunately I could only find VW/Audi DSG's (8 ms) and Veyron DSG's ("less than 150 ms") shift times. Many single clutch automated manual transmissions, like AMG's "Speedshift MCT 7" or Scuderia's "F1 Superfast 2", have their shift times disclosed, but not DCT's.

Wait...8ms...you mean 80ms, correct?!

Nope, 8. But that's upshift time, downshift vary between 300-600 ms. Furthermore, any change to a gear ratio which the transmission ECU did not anticipate may result in shift time up to 1100 ms (according to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Direct-Shift_Gearbox)<qtlend></qtlend><qtlend></qtlend>).
