View Full Version : Dyno'ed RS6

Just heard from a buddy of mine in Connecticut. Said the RS6 he just rode in was dyno'ed not long ago on a 4w DynaPak(sp), like the one APR has. Car put down(according to him referenceing they're printouts), 317 to the wheels, which I thought sounded a bit low. Driveline loss would be insane at that rate. None-the-less, the car now has an O.CT chip and a Milltek exhaust(nice!), and subsequently was bumped up to 417 at the wheels. Said it was the fastest car he'd ever ridden in(he drives a Stage 2+ S4), and said the RS had "walked" a Mustang Cobra(didn't specify the year, which would be very relevant, IMO, to determining the BS factor), with a 150 shot of nitrous. Take it with a grain of salt, but nice story, anywho. Those latest iterations of Cobras are pretty durn fast with some factory performance bolt-ons, and easily dyno at 470hp at the rear wheels. On the highway, they're likely to walk an RS6, unless the driver is pathetic, especially given a huge wet shot like that. Must've been an older model, I concluded... Anyway, thought I'd share, seeing as how it's the first U.S. modded car I've heard about personally.

Cheers,
Fru-T

Was that HP or kW? 317kW is about 430hp.

Sorry...didn't mean to be an arrogant American.

Hp...

... but 430bhp at the wheels is over 500bhp at the flywheel?

Teknikens Varld dynoed an RS6 long time ago.

Rototest had som problems measuring the power / torque at high rpms but they got about

330 hp (234 kW) at the wheels @ 5200 rpm (but as they mention, not exactly tru due to problems)
512 Nm @ 3000 rpm

Looking at torque, the loss is about 7% well within limits for a car with auto and quattro.

AWE strapped a new stock RS6 to the Dyno and it put out 372.2 wheel horsepower @6250 RPM 348.2 wheel torque @4000 RPM

I think the loss on an M5 was around 15% which was thought to be good ... 17% for a car with quattro sounds pretty good to me.
