I've read a dutch autonewspaper (Carros), there they tested the RS6 with the new Michelin Pilot Sport (hope I write it good) and they said that the complete handling of the car was much better than the RS6 with his standard tire's. The feeling of a heavy front was nearly complete gone.

(the Pilot Sport-series were speciale produced for the M3,M5,RS6)

(inch: 17-21 )

Hope you can make your benefit with it.

Cheers,Simon

That's what I'm planning to get once my P-Zero's are gone.

In this Tirerack Review (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/max_max_perf.jsp) the Pirelli PZeros seem to come out best. The results could differ depending on the car used in the tests.

Thanks for the link.

Yes, it does appear that the Pirellis come out tops, but the date of the test is at least eleven months ago...I had a look through the Michelin website for more information regarding the new Pilot Sport and apparantly it's a new design for 2003.

Okay. Here are three versions of the Pilot Sports...Each have their own little 'niche'.

Here (http://michelinman.com/catalog/tires/MichelinPilotSportCup.html?tiretype=3&tire=0) you'll find the Michelin Pilot Sport Cups. This tyre (tire ;) ) comprimises on durability for extra grip....A tyre more suited to track days or Autocross events.

Here (http://michelinman.com/catalog/tires/MichelinPilotSport.html?tiretype=3&tire=1) you'll find the "Bog Standard" Pilot Sports. This is a tyre which tries it's best at all round-ness. Where as the 'Cups are supreme in one or two areas, this tyre is above average in all the areas in which a tyre can perform.

Here (http://michelinman.com/catalog/tires/MichelinPilotSportAS.html?tiretype=3&tire=2) you'll find the Pilot Sport AS. This tyre really 'shines' when it's in a climate where the quattro is at home in the snow, rain and/or sun. Think of this tyre as the 'normal' Pilot Sport but with the opposite ingrediant of the cups.

Unfortunately the "cups" aren't available in the 255/40-18 yet (at least not according to tirerack.com)
