Another mule with S5 body and RS5's front bumper.

I wonder what they're testing now.

Never been forced. Unless you're a paid professional actor. ;)

With the change to the 3.0TFSI Supercharged engine the S5 is rumoured to get this new bumper.

With the change to the 3.0TFSI Supercharged engine the S5 is rumoured to get this new bumper.

I do like the bumper, but I think it is more suited to the RS5. Also, why does the prototype have the RS grille?

Another point is why did Audi not bring the bumper changes with the convertible which has just been released with the 3.0TFSi engine?

Oh yeah and if the S5 is getting this bumper, what is the RS5 getting ?:D I dont believe any of this anyway. I believe that prototype IS the new RS5

Do not worry!

Taking in consideration other spyshots, the RS5 will have boxed fenders, just like the RS6.

A lot of BS in that.
Facelift (bumper) S5 3.0TFSI Supercharged IMHO.

Autocar have this.

Nothing RS5 about that car.
No RS5 Brakes, No RS5 fuel cap, No RS5 fenders, No RS5 Exhaust tips.
Most likely a S5 3.0TFSI with facelift front bumper for more air to the fluid intercoolers.

Upgraded RS4 engine is the word, High Performance 3.0TFSI Supercharged is what i'm hoping for.
No interest in a prehistoric V8 FSI.

the question is not waht is said but wut what is in reality... if it has realyy the 450hp thanb it ill be a greta car.... all that will depend on what they modified from the RS4 V8 engine... the big issue was gettign cold air in...

I've heard from two sources I qualify being serious that the air inlet is now goign to be two 70mm of diameter vs. one og 90mm... that I think will make a big difference to be honest and get what the engine needs in terms of its air... but still to get 450hp in reality somethign more needs to be don to the engine mecanically (valvetronic maybe ?).

so I say if it really has the 450hp while RS4 V8 has more typically 370-380hp then its a big change and the car will be greta in my view. any ay I will still buy it.. but cross my fingers I will see a differences from the RS4 V8....

like i said. they better have increased the torque or decreased the weight becasue that chassis weighs practically the same as the RS4's. no amount of DSGing will make a difference.

....or else they had better have found another way to turn the laws of physics on their head. that car will not be much faster than the RS4.

No it will not match up to the R8 V8 and TT RS.

Weight - about the same as the S5, 450Hp, 460Nm, alot of RPM - more than B7 RS4, no turbo, no supercharger...this is info from KresoF1, check his posts...he was right about many models till now so he's probably the one to trust on the RS5 too.

I hope those 450Hp will be AT THE WHEELS...

Most N/A Audi engines don't match up to the power they should have.
Most RS4 engine's show a power even as low as 380 and max 400.

Mr Balsen

problem of RS4 engine is not the size of the air intake but the temperature under the hood. Properly cooled, the engine is much stronger. And sorry to say it but the sound of the engine is very good to me...

Unfortunately we are sitting in the middle of a battle at Ingolstadt between Turbo and No-Turbo...

but if the RS5 has V8 without turbo, S4 has V6 with kompressor and next RS4 has twin turbo V8, it is getting very confusing...

I hope the no-turbo loose, turbo's are the future.
Without a turbo you would not reach future emission standards.

I hope the current RS4 B8 prototype running with the V8 4.0l Twin turbo arround Ingolstadt win at the end....

The turbo, supercharge, which ever one is most suitable will win. N/A is dead in the water, every brand is making the swap over from N/A and I doubt Audi will not follow, especially as they probably the king when it comes to producing the best turbo engines.

I would lay any amount of money that if the RS5 had been delayed another 6-9 months it wouldn't have had a N/A engine.

Yes, that's the V8 Bi-turbo with overhead (between V) turbo's.
We will see that engine in the next Gen S8, Audi R8 and a lot more sporty Audi's.

This I believe is the same design that BMW have used in their X5M and X6M. In both those two cars the feedback is mighty impressive, with near zero lag and mountains of trust.

Still don't see why a supercharger system like the one used in the S4 wouldn't have worked a treat.
