I have called a dealer as I am considering getting myself a proper family car. with much surprise he told me that I have only a short while to order the beast as audi is going to stop its production in the coming months. Can any of you confirm this news... or is just a selling line to try and rush the deal?

Thanks!

The second.

The replacement of the C6 -> C7 is nowere near.

2011 (probably Sep. @ IAA) is the date that the next gen A6 will be introduced. Not 2009

While the C7 is no where near, the fact that its an RS makes it a limited production run. I'd say once this model year is done they won't be available, I don't think any RS model has ever went past 2 years of production.

i believe him. the RS5 is coming out soon, R8 production is steady, and the TTRS is being produced also- that is 3 car lines (assuming the RS3 is not real).

I'd expect it to be ending as well.

Wouldn't be surprised at all. The RS models are limited runs only, which is great compared to the M's in my opinion. The RS cars are so much more special.

Qisha maybe knows more? :)

This would be a 1st, since the last generations of RS6 C5 and RS4 B7 were produced till the next generation (C6, B8) arrived..

It could be true, RS5 is close, RS3 could happen, TT-RS is out there, ...

IIRC, 8081 C5 RS6's were made + 999 of plus models!

Does anyone have exact production numbers of the new RS6?

The difference this time being there are so many other RS type cars made as mentioned above. I don't think it's ending any time soon but it is a limited production vehicle means that there will be an end.

The TT RS is not build by quattro GmbH, it's build in Gyor.
quattro GmbH did only the development of the car and engine.

If Audi stops RS 6 production, that means that there is no market for it... Never before Audi stoped RS car before the end of a model ''life cycle''. Why would Audi leave its ''part of cake'' in the ''uber saloon'' class...?

I really don't understand...

I'm fairly sure that in the past they have only made a single RS model at any one time

- that's why the RS4 B5 (2001-2002) then C5 RS6 (2003-2004) then RS4 (B7?) then C6 RS6 now ......

They tend to bring out the RS version at the end of a particular model's life.

Here is a link to the New Zealand VASK info about expected Audi model release.

I'd dearly love this car for the American market.

Same here. I loved my A3...an RS version in the states would be a tempting replacement for my Beast.

Of allllll the courtesy vehicles I've had (which at this point I think has been everything except the RS4), The A3 is the one that I loved the most and had the most fun driving. The RS3, if brought to the US will totally be a car worth considering.

Fake. Why would a test mule have official badging? Also, RS models run single oval exhausts, not dual. IMO

Mules are often this way. Pictured here is an S3 (badge) outside, and possible RS guts inside.

I am considering the purchase in the UK through and official Audi dealer. the prices are just insane comared to european or Swiss prices in my case... Does any of you have experience in doing this type of imports? If so could you PM or post your experience and the how to... it would really help!

Thanks a lot!
