View Full Version : Axles on C5 RS6 same as any other C5 A6/S6?

Both of my fronts have torn boots and are starting to click, and plan on getting them replaced. The shop I went to says they can get rebuilds for a fraction of the cost, which made me wonder. Are the axles not specific for the RS6, as I found it hard to beleive there would be remans available for this car.

Also, does anyone have the part numbers for the driver and passenger side?

Try talking to http://www.raxles.com/. I had good luck with them when I replaced an axle on my S4.

Not sure about the interchangeability but I can second www.raxles.com (http://www.raxles.com) I purchases a set for my daughters A4 and I would say they are as good or better than stock. MGH

The axles are different between the RS6 and A/S6.

I buy all my parts from Bimmerparts.com and the item #'s are the SAME for the S6 (V8 4.2L) and RS 6 axle assembly.

I'm about to order the new axles for my car, Snoopra, can you verify from purchasing axles from the site you listed that the S6/RS6 axels are in fact the same?

Or can anyone verify this?

Car is being shipped tuesday for tranny rebuild and downpipes! I cant wait!

Haven't bought them yet, but everywhere I checked, part numbers are the same and I never had any problems with parts from that site.
