Just got embarrassed by a 20 something on a Honda CB1000R or something like that with (his words) "only 195hp". Knew I didn't have a prayer of beating him, but this was if I was standing still or going backyards. To add insult to injury, he did it while riding wheelie's and then doing stoppie's when we came to the red lights. Yes, I went back to the well of humility a total of three times but it was fun watching that thing fly and what a soundtrack. We waved, good sports all. Not willing to trade him though, I like this thing called life too much.

Ya, the bike is going to beat you but it shouldn't be that lopsided.....

....any liter bike+ will walk our cars off the line all day long. Especially if the rider can launch ( If he's riding wheelies, he does )

Now, in the middle, we may reel them back in a bit...

and at the top end.. well.. they have bugs in their teeth... LOL

No shame in that...
A 1000cc sport bike will kill just about anything. He was probably just impressed that you had the balls to try.
I had a go against a CBR (can't remember if it was a 750 or 1000) just to see how badly I'd lose (I think that was pretty soon after I swtiched to the Revo race-fuel tune). I bet the bike was probably a 750, because it wasn't as bad as I thought. We were at a light, I took off, and he must've been thinking "Who's this joker in the sedan think he is? He wants to play? Oh, OK." He just down shifted a was gone! Sounded awesome! Totally killed me up until the freeway, too. He was going flat out for a mile or so, then slowed up we we got to traffic. He did a double-take when he did a glance-behind, like WTF are you still doing there??? I got the thumbs-up just for keeping up.

Yeah, bikes are fast. Doing a run from about 80mph, it'll be a different outcome.

It's all about the power to weight ratio, and a 195bhp bike is going to win that formula every time.

I ride a Honda blackbird and to be honest, I take it quite easy these days, however as said before, unless you have a supercar, you won't beat a bike, power to weight.

The only time I was totally beaten or I would probably killed myself is when I was riding down long twisty roads in an area I didn't know, in the dark and raining by a BMW x5. I decided it just was not worth trying to keep up with him.

I have a Suzuki GSXR 750 heavily moded to 190hp. Weighing in at 390lbs. I have raced every car willing to try(porsche, ferarri, supra, ect..). Nothing even comes close. I cant keep the front end on the ground above 6000 rpm wot. Our cars are fast. But these superbikes are another category. There is no other feeling dropping into 3rd gear at 100mph and your stomach falls into your shoes while you fight to stay on through the powerband, you look up and read 180mph. There is no other rush.

Yeah I own a Busa. There is no way you are going to win against any superbike, not even a 600. Even a 600 can run the 1/4 in sub 11 seconds witht the right rider and no mods. You are not even going to get one in the mid range or top end. Well maybe a 600 on the top end. The only problem is neither of you are going to see the top end without a lot of straight away. These are the numbers for a 2008 GSXR 600. You can keep trying but its not going to happen.

Ditto, no shame in losing to a bike. Ask Greg here how fast I was off in the horizon on a fairly recent Julian run on my Lil' 600cc. ;) Anything short of a supercar simply does not have that kind of raw acceleration.

Thanks for the correction. Just googled that now. I'm next to clueless on bike models.
So CBR has 600, 900, 1000, and OMG 1100 over here? I guess maybe it was a 600 then. His gas tank was just a blur when he took off...:revs:

Suffice it to say, when you run up on a Superbike in a car you better have a lot of car. Sorry the RS6 is not one. Not even Chipped.

superbikes are king when it comes to power to weight ratio

and that's why my name is R1, i got an older 2004 R1, and yes it's superfast :jlol:

Moral to the story... anyone who owns the Beast should never feel bad losing to a superbike.

Yep, I was bruised pretty badly by a modified R6 at the dragstrip last weekend. We launched and he settled into my rearview mirror (meaning he probably mishifted), then approaching the 300ft mark, he absolutely flew by me like I had hit the brakes. He trapped 125mph, while I got to a mere 104.
