Most desirable RS6 color...ready to purchase!

New to the forum. In what order would the Forum consider the most desirable RS6 color? And secondly? I have the opportunity to buy a local So CA RS6. One owner, FSH, 28K miles, front pads & rotors replaced, about a 9 exterior and 9 interior. 25 & 35K service done. Timing belt and 02 sensor replaced within 6 months. New tires needed, but that's to be expected. Clean car with no accidents, etc. I've seen it and it looks very nice. I'm torn between this car and an '05 E55. Comments please, thanks. Ripper.

remember u are asking the people in RS6.COM, therefore u should know the answer right!! anyway if i were u i will pick the RS6 of course.....E55 is a fast car but only fast and nothing etc....RS6 is different:0:,well i trust that the people in here would tell u the reason why u should take the RS6 instead..

Personally own the Daytona, first choice was only slightly ahead with the Avus. Lots of people like to look at the Imola but few want to actually own it (sorry you 3). Not a personal fan of any others except the Ebony.

You don't say the price, is that because you have searched and have a good command of the market, and this one's priced right? If not, search.

Has the DRC been replaced? Not familiar with that system? Search. Sounds like the history is clean but the miles are getting to close to what, IMHO, are too low. Dry rot, premature seal failure, etc. A car needs to be driven a certain amount. I would try to find out from the previous owner what the driving habits were. Driven daily for 12 miles? Or weekly for 100 at a time? I'd prefer the latter.

What about warranty? If not provided, for the prices and best one, search.

Compared to the E55, I don't think anyone can honestly tell you it's a bad choice. If you need AWD, choice is clear. If not, personal preference. My personal factors were mainly that I liked the lower "profile" of an Audi over a Merc and my wife's E420 spit out a tranny, lifters and a camshaft, so I was a little jaded by that experience. If you're into modding the car, RS6 should offer more choices and far more potential.

We have agreed a price of $31K, which to me sounds very fair. The DRC has been replaced. The car is a weekend car for the owner, totally stock. I drove it and was blown away, not just with the acceleration, but with the road manners and it's all wheel drive. There is no warranty with the vehicle. I would want to purchase one but would ask the Forum who they recommend. The only initial mod. I plan are the MTM 19" wheels. They look fantastic. I'm in my mid-40's, not '20's. The E55 has a certain appeal to me. I have driven one and liked it, but the RS6 has that 'raw' appeal.

My personal choice of colour (being an ebony pearl owner) is the daytona grey. Is the Maureno Blue the slightly darker one? If so, that's my second choice, before my own ebony pearl...

Sounds fair for that low of miles and things already done. As for the warranty talk to the finance guy at your local Audi dealer and get the full coverage Fidelity policy they have for as long of a time period/miles you can.

Full service History.

I hated everything about my barge when I bought it, the colour, the silver trim, the clear windows. For about a day. Then, i fell in love, As i have said here before ( and I didn't offend anyone then so i will try again ;) ) I callerd her Eva, after eva braun, a plain yet not unatractive Women.. sort of normal looking but absolutley fuckin mental.

I now love the daytona, and clear glass (still hate the silver trim- but my est mate has a wart on his nose and he is still my best mate- ugly fucker but very funny!)

So for me, i think if you get the car that you love from first off, you will have a life long affair of love and happiness, if its not quite what you want, it will be like the girl you have fancied for some bizzare reason but cant quite figure out why, until you get her in to bed.................

cornishmoocher - you are killing me with laughter. I agree 100%. When my Avus Silver RS6 arrive via transport, I didn't like the blue-ish silver and was concerned with my sight-unseen purchase. Then, I drove the RS6 directly to the nearest gas station as the tank was on E with sound and light warning going nuts. The smart thing would have been to drive slowly so as not to run out of gas, but I had to test it. After a couple of 0-60 and tickling 100MPH, I made it to the gas station, forgot about the blue tint in my sliver and fell in love. I guess I got her in "bed" and am 100% satisfied.

I just spoke with my SA at Audi during my DRC re-repair. He a floater that works both MB, Audi and Porsche (imaging the fun this guy has test driving cars!!). He sees more Audi enthusiast than MB and he claims the MB owners are older retired types. One man's humble opinion. (is there an E55 website like this one?)

Updating the radio system with the Audi RNSE unit with the full screen helps the looks of the interior dramatically. Having come from Audi's with 'better' interiors i got over it pretty quickly...like after every giggly fun drive.

I went with an '06 E55. As much as I liked the RS6, for me, it had a cheap-looking interior. The power and AWD, however, was quite amazing. For the $$$, I just wanted a little more the faux carbon fiber and being robbed by US Bureaucrats not allowing the Recaro interior that the European models got. Each to their own I guess.
