Any clue on what this may be? I'm almost positive the sound is not being emitted by the motor, whats back there that could make this sound, fuel pump?

I can barely hear it while driving, the frequency of the sound does not change with engine speed.

Maybe the sound has always been there, as I rarely drive without the radio off.

Thanks!

Probably your N80 (evap canister purge valve), or possibly the secondary air pump. The N80 will make a ticking noise when it fails.

Defintely not the secondary air pump, sounds different then what I'm hearing.

Would the N80 being potentially bad effect performance in any way?

Drivers side left or passenger side left?

Passenger side, back of engine bay.

It's the fuel return solenoid, ticking is occasional and nothing to worry about. Circled here:

... and a green arrow - you can't miss it! :D

Yep. Thats what we call the Evap purge valve here.
I had mine replaced due to loud inconsistent knocking/ticking. The replacement ticks as well, but not as loudly.
