But on a serious note, I would have thought that the car equipped with the dual clutch would have won that race.

An M3 V8 with DCT would easily beat an RS4 B7. Im an Audi man, but I definitely know the M3 is quicker having 2 of them in my car club.

My point exactly, I am an Audi fan too but in this case you have to see it as it is and there is no way a stock RS4 will beat a stock M3 with DKG. Unless the M3 driver continually hits the rev limiter in each gear.

No always. Except if the M3 has a problem.
The difference you ca see on the video, is the difference you can find between a RS4 and a 335i.

I had the same opinion with you until I raced an M3 E 92 manual from 70-240 km/h
and I was front of him all the time.I was really surprised and the M3 was examined and everything was ok.So I understood that between similar cars some of them,usually press cars are stronger.I also raced another stock RS4 sedan and I was all the times 2 cars front of him.My car is bone stock.

Mine is around 430ch, after a JD prog, 35000km. Impossible to overtake a E92 M3. We finished around 260km/h.
Last time, a 335i (i asked the driver if it was tuned or not - he said no) was behind me. Really not far behind up to 220 km/h. Really surprising results. And i really didn't spend time on the gears...
