All,

Battery warning light came on yesterday, and it seems that the alternator is done and must be replaced. Anyone have insights into what the cost will be (in the US)?

Thanks,
Tom

came out great.
i had it done for cost, i think it would normally cost a consumer 180.00 usd. the following was done

inspection, testing.
complete disassembly.
case was sand blasted then washed in a cleaning cabinet.
case was painted silver.
grease was packed on all bushings and bearings.
new regulator and brushes were installed.
tested after re assembly.

apparently this is really hard to get part. i didnt want to part with 600 usd for a new one or 390 for a rebuilt one. mine was done in a crappy, messy looking shop by a old cranky man from Hungary. He is good and efficient and smokes a lot. i find these are the best craftsmen lol...
