I saw the third version of the 'series'...Pretty cool!

I'm not too sure about the car selection in the fourth version.

Red Honda NSX. hmm...I believe Honda only sold something like three NSXs in Britain in the last 12 months...Meaning, they're easy to track down the owners as they are rarities.

I wonder how they did it in Sweden...I'm sure the owner is easier to track down, than it would be over here....Unless the NSX sells like Hot Cakes there?

The police often know how's the owner of the cars featured in the Getaway In Stockholm movies, but can't do anything about it since we don't have any law that says you must tell them how you lended it out to.

I think the second movie GIS2 is the best. With a Supra TT and a Cossie - highly tuned. GIS1 pretty much stinks.

GIS4 looks promising. I don't think the NSX is stock... And NO, they're not common here either.

Then what do you think about the C5 ?

And NO, they're not common here either. Erik's right: neither the NSX nor the Supra are terribly common at all in Sweden. Here's what I found on the web:

* NSX: right about 30 (from Sportbilen.se (http://www.sportbilen.se/visaspalt.php?fraga=nsx); in Swedish)

* Toyota Supra: roughly 50, possibly a few more (from Supramannen.com (http://www.supramannen-racing.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=821); in Swedish)

Getaway in Stockholm 2, on the other hand, stands out as the best--so far--in the series. Here's what I think add to the movie's appeal:

* Two cars instead of one adds a lot of vitality to the movie.

* A lot of change in pace: the occasional slow parts reinforce the really fast parts (e.g. when going through downtown Stockholm).

* Many reference points gives you a good impression of the speed they're travelling at. There are more cars around in GIS 2 than in either GIS 1 or 3. Moreover, the route in GIS 2 gives you a better concept of the speed: as opposed to the first and third (in particular) movies, where a lot of driving takes place in tunnels and on freeways, the Supra and the Escort Cosworth mainly zip through rather narrow streets in dense, populated places.

* The sound. While the Porsche and the NSX have beautiful engine sounds, they sound rather civilized compared to the raw, screaming Cossie. The car certainly sounds as if it's being driven very hard, which, I would say, the Porsche and the Honda (or Acura, depending on your location :-)) do not.

* The encounters with the police: no less than three encounters with painted police cars. The cops and their car in the first movie are obviously fake (but of course necessary for there to be a 'getaway' in the first place). I also believe the unmarked car (grey Saab 9-5) in the third installment was in the script and along.

Having that said, picture and sound quality are a lot better in GIS 3 than in either of the two preceding movies, but it has, in my opinion, less of an underground feel, if you will, as it's a lot lighter outside when the NSX zips around.

Enough of my babbling. Klint and others who haven't yet seen them, take a look for yourself:

* Getaway in Stockholm 1

* Getaway in Stockholm 2

(Don't ask me about the file names... :trash: ) Movies from need4speed.host.sk (http://need4speed.host.sk/videos.html).

Any thoughts as to the appropriateness of this kind of driving?

Not to be picky, but I'm pretty sure those clips are copyrighted and therefore not for further publishing, right? :deal:

I haven't checked out the host but I doubt that they are in cooperation with the GIS-team. The should review their collection of films and maybe be a little bit more carefull with what they share...

Just a note.

By the way, I totally agree. Though I LOVE the Porsche in the first, I still think that the Cossie and Supra kick you-know-what. They are incredible cool!

I removed the direct-link to the movies since RS6.com don't request people to steal copyrighted material. The collection can be bought from www.getawayinstockholm.com - for those how prefer to steal it instead - I'm sorry but you simply have to find it on your own.

(no hard feelings here - It's only a formality) :cheers:
