Ben,

You will like this one.

Guy makes 499,000 dollars per year as a pension. I was so mad I could not finish reading the article. This guy was a city administrator of Vernon, CA. Population? 92

He could have retired at 50 or 55yrs old.

I dont need to say anything else. WTF is going on over there. Who do these people think they are?

Remember, 92 people live here in Vernon, CA.

How much does a typical private sector employee earn on Social Security at 65yrs?

$1500 a month? $1800 a month? That amount is now taxed (Thanks Clinton). That is after a lifetime of paying into the grand Ponzi scheme of Social Security.

Will the administration and the FED bailout the muni bonds from these state and local governments? That is the 60000 dollar question.

If that happens, I will stop paying taxes. Period.

We all know the unions are in the Liberal Obama camp and helped elect the guy. We all know the UAW is running off with taxpayer money and ownership of GM and Chrysler. What we may not realize is the power the Public Sector Employees Unions have in government. I think these public muni bonds will go in default and they will get a bailout. If that happens you will see shock waves thru the Bond markets like you never have before. Our money will not be worth the paper its printed on. Period.

Why are states going broke? Lots of reasons but if you look at some of these pension and benefit costs....you start to get a picture of a big reason. Do you think a city administrator who worked say 20years on the job should get 500000 dollars a year in pension benefits?

We are moving down the runway set to fall off into the Grand Canyon if we dont stop this out of control spending.
