Hello all. I have made a few posts here but wanted to give an intro (warning - its long with lots of pictures) I am a long time Audi owner living in San Jose, CA USA and in late March bought a 2003 RS6. With some good fortune I was able to upgrade my 2001 4.2 C5 and as such I have a good understanding of the non-RS bits on the car, but frankly almost everything under the hood and behind the wheels is different (and that's a great thing). Truly I am amazed (and happy) how flat better this car is in every way from the 4.2. I did copious research (thanks RS6.com) and was lucky to be able to drive 5 local examples before closing on my black beauty. It was super tight well taken care of in and out. Black out and in with options: Nav, Carbon trim, Solar, shades, and SE Exhaust. What really sold me was mileage of 22K and the balance of a Fidelity Platinum warranty that will carry me thru 2013 or ~85K miles. Also the first t-belt was done based on time not millage. This was no cheap <$30K purchase, I wanted the right one and paid for it.

Geeked up with this new purchase I went to work with a few minor mods:

Tackled an RNS-E Install, here is a picture from mid job, taking stuff out is always the easy part....

Took those silly amber reflectors out of the headlights, here we are mid job:

I did this on my previous car and this job was MUCH harder due to the lack of space. Almost just need to pull the bumper on these cars. The Finished Product:

Also did an air filter upgrade from stock to itg:

Also added the LED tails. Changed the oil right away per drill and wow finding 505.01 spec oil was not easy. Also I did get the oil filter out (and in) with out dropping the sway bar - sweet victory!

Looking forward to a new DRC system in Aug, called Audi to try and do it early and it was no-go, may be better to let them get experience with this then do mine as was suggested here. In the future, I would love to chip the car to see the max HP, but that may be a long way off as I like the security of the warranty and the power it has now is not boring.

As most of you, all I can do is smile when ever I walk up to the car, its awesome, its a BEAST.

Cheers.

Very nice ride! Very similar to my purchase story back in 08. 24k miles, top condition, well cared for and Audi Platinum till 2014 and 100k. :-) Were set for years to come

Post up some DIY threads as you tackle projects. I hope we can get this list used as more and more of a resource for taking on these projects.

Congrats, I've had my car for over 2 years now and they have depreciated a lot in the last couple of years but I think the depreciation is slowing, even in this crappy economy. The transmission is the only big problem I see. DRC either Audi will fix it or you go aftermarket as their are some good options. Hopefully some other guys will be testing the aftermarket transmission rebuild/modifications route before I get there. There are many that claim results but there hasn't been too many that have went other than the dealer yet.
