Alittle pricy considering we dont know about the timing belt service and there is no extended warranty.

IMHO when looking at these cars and comparisons are drawn. If the car does not have extended warranty. You may as well add 5000 dollars to the cost of the car.

Thus, add 5k and 3k to this 38k and you get 46k for a final figure.

That is way out there. I would buy a 10k mile RS4 for 42k before jumping on the RS6.

Man Dave. You and I think alike.

I am considering just that now. I just HATE the 17 gallon tank. I rack up miles, and ignoring the price of gas issue, the inconvenience factor of a 17 gallon tank is a total PITA...It was bad enough in the S4 I had; gotta be worse with the RS4. so not quite ready to pull the RS4 trigger. But getting there

Aside: the RS6 gets better real world mileage than the S4. Go figure (I am sure it's related to the differential gearing)

Too funny.

I have driven an RS4. Very nice car and the 6speed is a pure joy. Had I not found my current RS6 in the condition and care from the prev owner(Thanks doc)...I was ready to buy the RS4.

That said, I will consider a RS4 moving forward. We will never see anything like it again and I would not mind just keeping both. RS6 and 4. Then it would be a tough decision when the R8 time came around as to which one had to go. I would say the 4 could go and the R8 would move in.

If people like this guy with the 12k RS6 really think they can flip a car and make 10k in a week. They can shove it where the sun dont shine. Idiots. I will just go buy a mint RS4 instead.

Good luck

Just thinking here....you could pick up a very low mileage RS4...say 10k miles and you would not need to purchase an extended warranty. You would have plenty of miles to burn before running up to the factory 50k coverage. Then just sell like you always do. Just a thought.

RS4: Not as much torque; not as much room; better performance and 17 gallon tank. RS6 wins, if I do not suirrender too soon

if you're thinking about an rs4, jump in a previous gen s4, boost it up, it'll be cheaper AND more fun.

Been there done that. Many years ago.

I am a big fan of factory vetting the reliability and driveability issues, and the engineering that goes into the full drivetrain based upon a certain expected horsepower and torque spec.

But thanks for thinking of me :-)

I am not a fan of the 2.7tt modded to stage 3 specs.

I would just pickup another STI and set it up for track duty at 1/2 the price and run circles around the S4. I just dont want another STI. Its R8 or RS4 for a fun car until the R8 prices come down.

Ha,

That should lower the price 10,000 dollars. The whole drivetrain is not covered if anyone buys the car and gets a Fidelity policy.
