Good,

You noticed this one. I was going to PM you.

The other Gray low mileage unit went for 29k. Right?

Was that the car at Nashville Motorsports? I see a low miler over there as well.

Good times for someone in the market of a low miler.

Good luck

shhhhhhhhhhhh

This am told me he'd sell it at 31,900. We were done, pending a written contract. He seemed happy to send it. Never got the paperwork. Called 3x throughout the day.

Now stealer says he "has a problem. Someone has told us they would pay $35k".

Leveraged my price? Pure BS to get me to bid higher? I don't care. In my world, your word is your bond. He told me I was done this morning at $31,900, and I just needed to sign a contract, which I wanted anyway. So....

My response just now: "I was ready to wire you $31900 today. Outta my bid. Don't call me back and forget sending the paperwork. I do not work that way, and I know you bought the car from Belle Meade Autobrokers at $29k last week"

He was literally speechless. Tried saying that's not the same car. Pointed out same VIN. He then said he could sell it wherever he wanted (in the sweetest tone)....

Well yes. Of course. It's his car.

PS _ I had the link saved too Dave. And I saw the car pop up last night. So I knew it was the same car. Was on the horn first thing today. Oh well. Thanks for watching out for me guys.

What an ass. hopefully it will end up biting him as its only going to keep dropping in value. He made the $$ with your offer so he is just plain stupid. Carrying cost alone will start eating at it if he doesn't turn it around. Too bad. You had a very fair offer and profit for him.

DHall1
June 12th, 2009, 21:11
I said it above.

We should just shoot him. Ask questions later.

I say he does not have 35k offer.

I also say, we bombard him with low ball offers until he gets sick of dealing with us. I will start the ball off right now.

Start sending him offers for 27, 28, 28.5, ect.

Well,

"No problem with the inspection however I’ll only sell the vehicle for $39000
If you are in agreement with this, give me a call and I will assist you with the inspection process.
Thank you for your interest,

Whatta shame. He could be wearing a profit of between 2 and 3k already. I do not fault him for being in business to make money. But this is just plain getting silly....

Maybe I shoulda bought the 35 and offered at 39 (same silly logic as Tony)

BTW- TONY was adamant that the car did not need a t-belt change before 80k.

No worries. John is back from vaca (Yellow RS6), and we are talking again.

Guys,

I'm the person that bought this vehicle. I bought it wednesday morning before they had even received it from Nashville Motorsports, then they listed it on ebay anyway. This dealer tried not calling me back on friday when we discussed wrapping up the deal because he's trying to get more money. We had a little chat yesterday morning it's now a done deal. Frustrating but worth it.

So you paid $35?

Regardless, congrats for making him stand on the number.

I feel it's worth the $35 price. I've looked for a low milage RS6 for years. Last summer there was an Avus silver RS6 with 10,000 miles or less (Not sure of exact milage) on ebay and a member from this site bought it. Since then I haven't seen anything with less than 25k miles and as the years pass these opprtunities will be become less common.

I have an 07' RS4 but I wanted more of high powered cruiser.

Other than the fast one these guys were trying to pull on everyone. The car is worth the money. No doubt about 35k.

Congrats and welcome. Its a small world because I have been looking around for a sportier car to throw around alittle and the RS4 keeps popping up. RS6 is the power cruiser and the RS4 is the DE and back roads car. R8...I just need to keep saving and they need to drop much more in price.

lol I did not see that :lovl:, my beast has now become a daily driver for the wife (30 miles a day, 5 days a week max) so I’m looking for a replacement car as I’m getting tired of the 07 GTI and it has 66,000 miles, I’ve looked at another RS6 but I can drive 30-40,000 miles a year (don’t ask) so the RS6 is not practical. I’ve narrowed it down to 3 cars: 08 WRX STI, 09 VW R32 and the 08 EVO MR. I like the VW and the WRX because of the hatch I will be test driving next week for a replacement any suggestions?<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

Actually the Nashville car sold twice before it came to NY. Belle Meade, (I drove it there) then to Nashville Motor Sports then to the current 'Stealer.' Seems like a lot of money when you consider no warranty and timing belt needing to be done. Just my .02 for what it's worth.

DHall1
June 15th, 2009, 02:34
4k for warranty and 2.5k for belt. 41,5k.

If you really want one...that is low mileage.

If if you are indeed dumb enough to buy this one for $37K you can have mine for a few grand less at the same mileage. <cough, cough> that crack is a little stiff at first...

I am amazed by the Nashville car story. Perfect reason why never to trust anything a car salesman says. Complete BS. Hope it works out for you mtmscs4. Great car but i do feel that all in with warranty and the timing service its a little high even for the extra 10K miles saved over the next best RS6. Unfortunately with these things the failures that do occur happen regardless of mileage. I paid too much for mine in the beginning so I can't really say anything as mine was worth it to me at the time (and I bought in '05 a 20+K car) and while still upside down on it 4 years later I am still impressed with it everyday.

Although just this week (or more correctly I got to a low tank finally after getting my car back from its last major dismantling) the readout in the trip computer for miles remaining and the gas gauge no longer agree with one another (1/4 tank left on the gauge but 35 miles on the readout) and the air bag light came on again which is what i took it in for 2 months ago in the first place. Grr.

Good for him. He is trying to make a quick 10k for flipping that car. He may end up holding the bag when the transmission craps out and pulls the code. Not that I wish any bad luck. What comes around goes around...he offered the car to a list member for much less before changing his mind and going for more money. Mojo baby.
