You got yourself one hell of a car. I'm impressed, thought the LP640 would get going above 200 km/h compared to the LP560. But.... Nice one! :thumb:

It appears that the LP640 is running an older version of the gearbox software, is this the case?

Apart from that I am a little shocked as to how well the Gallardo performed. When you look at power to weight and torque to weight there is no logical way that the Gallardo should have been still there, but there it was and I might add still ahead.

I'm thinking that Audi have a habit of shooting themselves in the foot, they did it to the old Gallardo with the launch of the R8v8, it appears that they did it again with the launch of the LP560 vs the LP640 and everything I have read about the new R8v10 looks like it too will under cut the LP560 yet match it on everything else.

The actual running weight of an LP640 is 1860kg not the 1680kg that Lamborghini claim. Looking at it that way, the LP640 is 24% heavier that an LP560. The thing with the power-to-weight effect is that it only runs out when the car starts to run out of power. With 560bhp, this probably won't start to happen until right at the end of that run when speeds are well over 160mph. However, the LP640 would greatly improve its chances if the driver was driving it in a straight, non-diverging line.:hihi:

It seems (dyno tests) that LP560 has more like 600hp.

Yep, true. And the R8V10 has also got way more than Audi says.

Wouldn't surprise me. DMS claim 608bhp (617ps) from just a chip. 10% seemed like a big jump but if it's already producing nearer 600, it's made their upgrade appear better than it actually is.

so 590hp for lp560 and 550-560hp for r8v10?

I will wait for proof that either of these cars are under-rated. 560hp is a hell of a lot of poke, never mind 30hp more. Are we to assume that the LP640 also makes a lot more than quoted or is this solely an LP560 thing?

we already have one dyno at 500ish awhp which is a HUGE underrating by Lamborghini. when Allan's G was dynoed it made 410ish awhp (correct me if im wrong allan) and this translates into 493 crank hp (lambo's claim) given 17% drivetrain loss. at 17% loss 500 awhp is 602 crank hp.

well since we know what power an 04 G and Supeleggera make (493 and 522 hp respecitively at the flywheel) and since they dynoed 410 and 435 on the same dyno in rwd mode, we can estimate that they both have 17% loss in rwd mode. given the same loss for the LP560, at 503 rwhp on the same dyno as the other two, it means it is making 606 hp at the crank. which is equal to about 615 PS (metric horsepower) therefore the car should be rightfully named the LP615

It's only 45-60 down on an LP640.
