As a person who has driven both of these cars I can honestly say that in no way will a stock M3 live with a TVR Tuscan in acceleration.

The Tuscan has 360 hp and a curb weight approx. 1.100 kg.

And you're not alone:

"I'm surprised with the result in a way. I have driven a Tuscan S and an E92 M3 and I would say the TVR definitely felt a lot faster. I know this is a standard Tuscan but I can't imagine there is huge acceleration difference between this and the S model."

There isn't a dramatic difference between the Tuscan and the Tuscan S, maybe 0.5s to 200km/h and 1.5s to 250km/h.

It's only 20hp and 20ft/lbs down on the Tuscan S which can cover the 0-100mph in 8.1s, that's a full 2s quicker than an M3 and with this being a rolling start it takes the whole traction problems that the TVR suffers completely out of the equation.

This is either an ill TVR (very possible as their give a lot of problems) or it's a heavily tweaked M3.
