As most of you know, I did some logging the other day and was unsure about the results. This time I tried it once more, and I think I might have better results in hand. At least closer to what I'd expect.

The logging took place from a dead stop onto about 130MPH. All done at WOT, and probably up to 4th gear. The logging took place on a safe stretch of highway, around 11PM. Temperature outside was about 76 degrees Fahrenheit, and the road was straight without any inclines. I left the transmission in 'D' mode, which is the non-sport. I did some other logging in 'S' mode, which is sport, and I shall post those later for comparison. In the graphs below, a 5K->4K or 6K->4K RPM change delineates a gear change (in this case an upshift). Values for all three graphs correspond to readings done in the same exact run.

I think that about covers preliminaries. About the graphs, see below.

Boost in PSI:

MAF in g/sec:

Torque in lb/ft and Nm:

Logging results are found in the graphs above. This is a stock RS6 with sport exhaust. I will try to continue to do more logging as temperature changes dramatically, to see if any considerable changes are seen. If you have any questions, let me know.

Nene,

Thanks for the info. Can you give me a primer on the boost and MAF measurements? Something comparative would help put them in perspective. Have you done the same on your S4? Also, any info on the instruments used to obtain the measurements would be appreciated.

I look forward to comparisons in "S" mode.

Thanks,

Finnus

I take the measurements using the VAG tool from Ross-Tech. Once I get onto the 'Engine' controller, I do the measuring on the following blocks: 003 (Mass-Air Flow in g/sec), 120 (Torque in Nm), and 115 (Boost in mbar).

Conversion process is the following:
1.0 Nm = 0.74 ft/lbs. HP = (TORQUE X RPM) / 5252
1bar = 14.5038312 PSI

I don't have any graphs for the S4, but you can see graphs of a chip'd S4 on AW at the following URL: Chip'd S4 Logs (http://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/843251.phtml)

I have not seen any other RS6 graphs, with the car chip'd or stock. Thus I'm not sure how these compare. It seems overall that things are okay, and I will use these as a basis for future graphing.
