GT2 is just somethink else. What car competes with it? Even Carrera GT struggles badly against it!!

Think F430 Scuderia and LP560.

I don't want to go off topic, but how the hell could be the next M6 faster than GT2? Do you really think it will be a whole second faster to 100kmh and 3 seconds faster to 200 than current? I can not imagine that!

+1

I don't know where all this extra performance is coming from. OK, it will have a new engine with turbos but the latest info I have heard say it may not use an engine of the same capacity as the one in the X5M, so it may not even have the same 550hp and 500ft/lbs. Unless BMW considerably down it's weight I can't see how it could possibly be quicker than a GT2.

Though there is no doubting that the present M6 is a seriously quick car and probably quicker than an RS6 to 300km/h.

Strange, because from what i have 'overheard', the engine remains the same and add KERS technology plus DCT gearbox etc. etc. ... well time will show but one thing i am sure of is that M cars do not disappoint in top speed department and we can expect a car (M6) that will put up a good fight on autobhan!!

Why don't you look up e39 M5 vs. e60 M5 mate. It is night and day difference in performance.

This may be so but it's not that much quicker

And here is another M5 racing the RS6

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpaVTdqsPLk

which in my opinion I would say that the RS6 is actually further ahead compared to the M6.

P.S.

About the new M6, I also 'overheard' that it's not trying to compete with the LP560 at all, it's really gunning for the Bugatti Veyron instead. :D (joke)

KERS, do you really believe it will be available on the M5/6, I mean the technology has only just made it into F1 and some teams are having problems with it already. It would be very risky to fitted into a mass produced car not designed to be rebuilt very couple of races. I think it is makes it into mass production cars at all it will be at least 4-5 years from now and not with in the next 1-2.

Limak, M5 was quicker because it is a very good M5.
But properly tuned RS6 C6 will be a little bit faster.

Limak, I know these cars and drivers personally.
Should I comment further?

M5 stock was faster than RS6 stock (but this RS6 had some problems with air filter whil being stock)
RS6 tuned is faster than M5 tuned

M6 would only be pulling away Leadie. M6 has higher top speed and also - the difference in performance becomes trully visible when you race a faster car i.e. if car X is 5 car lenghts away from M6, it'd be 10 car lenghts away from the M5 and that Leadie, is a proper road kill in my book.

I have seen other vids and the advantage is much bigger in favour of the M6 plus corners... M6 has 60mm lower centre of gravity compared to M5.

M6 is the fastest BMW thus far.

Rutkowsky,

I was only showing an example where it appeared that the RS6 was at least as quick as the M6. My point was to highlight that different cars and drivers will produce different results, in one case an M6 will be quicker and in another possibly the RS6.

Another thing, I'm not sure that stock vs stock the M6 would have a higher topspeed. The only thing stopping the RS6 is it's rubber, when this is overcome to Audi's satisfaction then maybe the two delimited cars can run that race to see who would be victorious.

You are wrong my friend
This very M5 ran with M6 with similar tuning package and up to 280 km/h they were even!!! No difference really - I don't know why
