they may have modified the exhausts for the US market. or it may be a TDI???
the plate is from tampa, fl- down the street from where i live- and from where audi's main american emissions testing facility is located.

This is a R8 V8 body with R8 V10 blades and Oval end tips (You can get them for example @ B&B Automobiltechik)
And under the hatch a V8 TDI IMHO. ;)

This is R8 5.2 FSI test mule for US market. That mule was build in early 2008 and is already in USA since autumn 2008.

If you look at this early mule in front of Ingolstadt HQ - has the same exhaust setup.
