Okey...here's a video we never (I think) published for some reason. We were trying to convert it to mpg but never got around doing it so the film was unpublished - until now.

This video was a joint venture between rs6.com, bmwm5.com and sportbilen.com. It was filmed early during spring time so as you can see there's still some ice on the roads. All cars were on 18" winter tires. The M5 is driven by the owner, the RS6 is driven by Mr. X. After test driving the M5-owner said he was impressed and that he would definetly consider changing.

You can also read the story written by Gustav (bmwm5.com) here:

Apparently I had no time or was too lazy to do my own story...

ftp://www.rs6.com/rs6.com/AudiRS6vsBMWM5fullsize.avi (save as...)

Feel free to host the video in its unedited form. Only 30 people can download at the same time. And please no hazzle about the avi-format. As you can see from our ftp there's also RealPlayer versions, not sure about the quality fo those though.

Erik,

Didn't try to download due to audio only complaints.

In the attached photo, however, I think those are 17" wheels on the M5. Having owned two, I am familar with the wheels. In the US, the wheels are optional on a 540i sport and are 17". They also happen to be the only wheel in BMW's inventory that fits the M5, except, of course, the OEM wheels. These are the only wheels BMW officially recommends for winter driving.

My info is US-centric and Eurpoe may be different. But I'm quite sure my info is accurate - at least from the US point fo view.

Grrrrreat video!! RS 6 vs. M5 is always a battle worth to see. Didn't you release a similar video recorded at the same "event"?

Nice to see the RS 6 go past the M5 during the "M5 cam" view.

For you who can't see the video, I can say that I'm using a codec-pack called Nimo. I'll try to find a link to a download location. I want you to be able to see this one.

Thank Erik, once again a fine RS6.com release.

I'm definitely interested in seeing this video (albeit probably next week :p :p ) and getting the codec. The sound on the video, which was all I could get, was very cool.

:addict: FEVR :addict: Pretty high right now

Make sure you read both my posts before donwloading either one of them.

How about some links that will hopefully help you out? :)

First, remember that I of course can not take any responsibility IF anything goes wrong which causes loss of data or other damage.

There are two versions, one full version and a Lite version. I think that the Lite version should be enough but if not and you want to try the full version, make sure you uninstall the current codec pack first. Don't just delete the folder, UNINSTALL. Very important since it adds things to the registry. Also, It doesn't say that Mac is supported so I would NOT recommend that you try. Sorry to you who have got Mac computers.

Enoug said, here we go (links are to the download site, not direct downloading so don't try to "save target as")

Full version: http://www.divx-digest.com/software/nimo_pack.html

Lite version: http://www.divx-digest.com/software/nimo_lite_pack.html

Enjoy! (hopefully) :bye:

Ok, here we go with an alternative link for those who experience problems with Nimo or just want to try another codec. Personally, I would recommend you to try this one first, and then Nimo. I've read that "ffdshow" as this one is called is more "clean" and better for your computer (but I'll leave that to those who know).

I'm sorry, but this is also only available for Windows. Also, you should NOT have both ffdshow and Nimo installed at the same time. You simply have to make up your mind.

The version you want is the one called "ffdshow" version 2002-06-17.

he he, forgot the link: http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow

Ok, that's it. Again, hopefully this will help you to get some viewing pleasure.
