The Cayman S is bloody quick, very impressive. But still, the R8 shows the way! :R8:

Look!
KresoF1, what are the times of GTR and 997 Turbo?

GT-R was not tested yet in EU or German specs version. Sales of EU specs GT-R will start in late April 2009.

Porsche 997 Turbo was tested in Coupe version(MY07) and it achieved 1:13,7min. Later 997 Turbo Cabrio was tested as MY08 with minor PTM setup changes and it achieved 1:13,1min. It shows up that MY08(or current) Coupe is capable of high 1:12,Xmin time.

Remark-all times are with standard tires-NOT Corsas or Cups.

Andy,

M3 Coupe achieved 1:14,3min with Michelin Cup+ tires. BUT, with standard Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 it achieved the same time as Sedan.

997.2 Turbo will be even faster then
1:11-1:12

I do not think so. Why? 997.1 Carrera S achieved 1:13,7min with 381ps power kit, PCCBs and Sport suspension.
997.2 Carrera S with PDK, SPASM, PCCBs and SC Plus achieved 1:13,4min. Both cars with same Bridgestone RE050 N1 tires.

So, new generation is 0.3s better. You can expect the same thing with 997.2 Turbo with PDK. My guess is 1:12,5min tops...

But it were you who told us that 997.2 Turbo would be a very-very fast car! and now only 0.3s of improvement - not that much

You did not understand me too well...

Example No.1 Hockenheim:
On Hockenheim natural drive dynamics is more important then sheer power. 0.3s-0.5s improvement is actually a big difference on short track like Hockenheim.

Example No.2 Nordschleife:
With very powerfull car like R8 V10 or 997.2 Turbo 0.3s on Hockenheim usually translates into about 8s-10s faster time on The Ring! Just 10km/h more on long Doettinger Hoehe can bring 1s faster time on Nordschleife.

Conclusion-997.2 Turbo should be a lot faster on the Ring then old version...
