Mercedes and BMW, close to become one

As I and several other members sugested some time ago, Mercedes and BMW are close to start ''becoming one'' in near future. Growing VAG/Porsche family is to big for them... Alltough, my personal opinion is that this is start of Mercedes taking over BMW...

Absolutely right, AndyBG. So Merc finally owns the 3-Series, gets Mini and Rolls-Royce (Goodbye Maybach). Poor BMW. It's funny how its optimistic reporting of sales belies the fact that it is in such dire financial straight. Still its engines are as good as ever. That said, I'm not sure how Merc really is and whether its sales decline is hurting it as much as BMW.
