I've got an ipod touch and noticed there was an accelerometer program available. My RS6 is totally stock, has pilot sport A/S tires, never been to a track (I rarely have driven it hard for more than 30 seconds). It was an unplanned test on my way home from work, I didn't prepare anything all I did was stomp on the gas from a stop. I did the test with me, 3/4 tanks of gas, a briefcase with laptop, a full set of golf clubs in the trunk. It was about 65 degrees out. It gave me a 0-60 of 5.12, to 100 10.9 sec, 1/4 13.30. How accurate do you think that is? Here are the screen shots from the ipod:

Dynolicios is pretty accurate if you obey all its instructions:
1. proper calibration
2. proper installation in the car
3. proper weight and other settings.

I've played with that program a little bit. Don't forget about that efficiency/drive train loss figure that is self-input. The results on the timing seem a little bit fickle to me, but in general they are probably pretty good. As for horsepower, it's totally driven by the drivetrain loss number and is most likely is only useful for comparing various mod's on your car to each other. Unless you've had it dyno'd by someone that really knows their stuff, then run Dynolicious under the same exact conditions and enter a loss ratios that makes the HP number come out the same, the HP numbers are only good for self-comparison. But it is a neat toy, just watch where you're going.

I have consistently gotten 4.5~4.7 0 to 60mph when I ran it on the track with real timers. My acceleration more closely matches what some of the magazines got while timing. Did you turn your ESP off?

Yes, ESP was off. I will try it again on a better road, without golf clubs, etc.

That's cool, I didn't know the iPod Touch had an app like that! Now I kinda wish I hadn't returned mine (x-mas present) for a Classic. Oh well.

I see mixed results there. Yes, the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times are a little slow (try it with a 1/4 tank of gas in addition to dropping the clubs), but the 0-100 is really good, and the 1/4 mile speed (if accurate) is phenomenal! Let us know what happens when you try this again.

hahnmgh63, or anyone that has run at the track, is it true that you can't power-brake these cars?

I downloaded PocketDyno a few months ago but only recently did a quick run.

Snows on...in Drive (LOL)
0.62 g
320 whp (calculated)
60' 2.40 sec
330' 5.97
0-60 mph 5.00 sec

I did not have a chance to try again...just one quick run.
