Hi guys,, I found this in eBay and wondering if anyone have heard about it before or tried it on RS6 C5? I don't think it is possible since we have to plug the key in the ignition to verify the code (imobolizer).

Just an outside perspective here.

Do you know that the engine/transmission has to be removed to gain access to the starter?

What if this product screws up the starter or flywheel? Will CPO cover?

The only person/gizmo I trust to start my car is myself. My finger on the key and my ears listening to the startup.

IMHO

Here is the link of the remote starter I have installed. Works great, starts only, runs for set time, turns off when brake is depressed if key is not in ignition. A must in extreme weather conditions to cool or heat. In my case heat. :snow:

I have it on my Bronco and it is nice. I like that I get the chance to hear the sound of it starting from outside the car!

Working with 2004 built for Canada RS6 C5, start my car almost everyday with it. No issues.

I have remote start on everyone of mine and my wifes car. I have never had any problems with them starting or messing something up. They are on a 88 Wrangler, 96A4, 00 Grand Cherokee, and 04 Expedition.

What type/brand remote starter are you using? This setup would be difficult due to Audi's ECU protocol, who install the kit?

hey R1, just a few details.... ive checked those out, and have to agree with snoopra - dont know if it can be rigged with the ecu and protocol.... ask RS6.CA how he rigged...
the key does have to be in the ignition for the transponder to recognise...
but as for removing the starter, just the subframe and the right engine mount needs to be removed - not the engine...

I did have to hide my valet key within the car so that the car can start without a key in the ignition. I didn't install it however I know that the module was a plug in type. No engine modifications required. I did select the 1 way model as I still wanted to use the original fob.
