One question. Are you making more of them for us?

Looks good IMO! Would hate to see one of those Supra things in such a great car as an RS6 so good job :)

Nice job....did you consider leaving vents on side to still let the defroster work?

Did consider leaving the vent functional, but it'll NEVER be needed here. It's fairly simple to fab, I bought a honda pillar pod, a small fiberglass repair kit and a small body filler kit. Then basically carved the pod to match the dash contours, dremeled out the inside of the defrost vent. Plugged the vent and drilled a hole for the hose and wires. I removed the headlight switch and main vent to get a visual of were to make the hole and to be sure not to hit anything! Crazy glue pod to vent, add fiberglass on the inside to reinforce, small piece of reinforcing mesh for the front, body filler outside to finish off. Use painter's masking tape all around area so filler doesn't stick/ruin dash. Sand, paint, done.

If you know someone who can make a mold for mass repro, I'll be happy to send it in, Dave.
Thanks to everyone for your comments/compliments!

Next project to be completed in a couple days (or hours) is the installation of a half din DVD player in the glove box with an external remote mount IR sensor.

You ask. I deliver.

yeah, we need a group of 20 and a project manager. Does anyone have interest?

The Defi electronic boost gauge with the red leds would match up nicely with the Audi red dash lights.

Hmmm

Great! So how many are interested in having a pod made? A minimum of 20 and has to be pre-paid for project to be done with a 10 week ETA.

So it is actually mounted to the inner surface of the VENT and does not damage the actual dash surface? NICE IDEA....

Good place for a Phone mount, Iphone, or aftermarket Nav unit...would be a solid place to mount with plenty of room for wires...

So a fabrication of the bottom half of the unit would have multiple uses.

Nice work.

The boost gauge in the mirror is a neat idea, but not very practical. I wouldn't want to be looking in mirror every time I'm accelerating!

Not mine, but here are some more pics:

Only a HUD would keep your eyes completely on the road. The process of locating a gauge ends up being a balance of minimizing the time the eyes are away from the road and aesthetics. The mirror location isn't bad, it would be better somewhere in the dash. That LED display is small enough it might fit in the speedometer...

Even better would be an analog gauge as the numerical readout would be difficult to read as it is constantly changing. But then size and location of the gauge become more difficult. Nice work Snoopra!

10SecS4: Where'd you get the photos? I'd love a link to the project.
