We have had a lot of talks regarding possible Ring time of the newly made TT-S.
So pls look at the link and see it yourself.

Some of you will be satisfied, some (as Leadfoot I think) - not really.

8:29 min is a very disapointing time IMHO, its not better then a TT 3.2 quattro.
Raeder motorsport did a 7:49 min with a modified TT-S.

That's a bit strange because on some other tracks it was faster than C63, new M3, S5 and 997 Carrera 4S...

It should do better on the Nordschleife IMO...

Here's the link (http://www.sportauto-online.de/test_U_technik/supertest/hxcms_article_516334_14469.hbs) to the Sportauto TT/S ring lap. Best look at the different sectors before you dismiss the time it did.

Next check out this link (http://forums.finalgear.com/general-automotive/sport-auto-tuning-special-audi-tts-32849/) it's interesting reading and might explain just how good the TT/S is, the right rubber and lighter alloys knocked a full two seconds off it's Hockenheim time from 1:17.1 that it did when stock to a eye watering 1:15.2. Now in the hands of Sportauto a stock TT/S did the lap in 1:16.1 so the question is, how much of that two second improvement was the rubber and how much was the rims?. ;)

But one thing is clear, in the right hands the TT/S with Dunlop rubber and light weight alloys could in theory at least match the time set by the M3 on similar semi-competition rubber. :hihi:

The Nurburgring is a power circuit and demands power to get a great lap time, it's best to look at shorter tracks with normal straight to get a feel for how good a car truly handles. :thumb:

But a TT 3.2 quattro is also able to do a 8:29 on the nordschleife.

I don't know weather conditions at the time of both TT runs but it's not impossible that 5s could be won or lost due to poorer track conditions. The reality is the TT3.2 and TT/S are not that close in track performance.
