The OEM over heat and warp. The "sport" OEM drilled rotors does the same (so I heard). So what's everyone ones using?

What is this sport oem rotor?

Do you have part numbers?

What is different about them?

Much of the problem may be the junk stock pads.

OEM rotors were the best option I could find in the long run.

I believe he means cross-drilled rotors by sport rotors.

The cross drilled were the only rotors that came on North American models. In ROW (Rest of World) cars, undrilled rotors were standard.

Can our drilled rotors be resurfaced? Lots of vibrations coming from mine.

Yes, sport rotors I mean drilled.

Doesnt the oem rotors suck because it heats up too fast and warp?

A good note in there on bedding brakes properly.

35K miles. No mods. OEM rotors and pads. Front rotors and pads were replaced under warranty due to vibrations at about 15K (when it wasn't mine).

The harder I brake the more vibrations I get. Even when stopping from 20mph.

Is the vibration during braking in the steering wheel when you brake? Or does it feel like its in the floor of the car?

If steering wheel......your front pads are most likely getting thin and overheating.

took the wheel off today and got a closer look. The pads are 50% gone so I assume the rivets are expose. I have some deep grooves on both my rotors. Good thing I bought those EBC pads last week.

Now for new rotors, what's everyone using? Has anyone tried the Phaetons?

I don't think the phaeton rotors will work, the most any of us have done is the phaeton brake duct modification. Although, I am not quite sure what grizz is using in his big brake mod.

C6 RS6 front rotors. You need some custom bits as well as larger rims to fit these.

That's not a bad idea. But first, are the C6 RS6 a 2-piece design or is it just like ours but bigger? If it's a 2 piece, I'd go for it! *EDIT*-- Just found a pic. The C6 RS6 rotors are one piece just like ours, but bigger.
Look : http://i23.ebayimg.com/03/i/000/f6/ae/b16d_1.JPG (http://cgi.ebay.de/Audi-RS6-RS-6-Bremsscheibe-390-x-36-mm-Brembo-Bremse_W0QQitemZ380071573888QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAut oteile_Zubeh%C3%B6r?hash=item380071573888&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1229%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C 240%3A1318#ebayphotohosting)

When you say "custom" bits, do you actually mean fabricating a new bracket to hold the caliper or can we just use the C6 RS6 caliper bracket?

According to OEMPL.US the Phaeton front 2 piece rotor will fit. http://oempl.us/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=60_72&products_id=985

The c6 disc is just like yours but bigger , You need 19in rims to fit them .
I make a kit to reuse your original caliper .

I might get some c6 front calipers as well.....

The C6 calipers are only 6 pot vs. our 8 pot. Are the C6 still better because it's a newer design, or bigger caliper with less pistons is still better?

I use custom hats and rotors, the group buy from 2008. my oem rotors and pads lasted over 30k miles. that is no track time, but I do have car0chipped, dp, exhaust, water injection etc... and I drive pretty hard. I did about 5 or 6 runs to 170 with some braking at high speed

Grizz, what are the costs of the C6 rotors compared to ours? Obviously a little more stopping power I would think.

Well since I have 19's and I cant turn these fronts. The c6 option sounds interesting. What do you charge for the kit?
