The World Performance Car startet off in 2006. Within previous winners the Audi RS4 and the Audi R8. This award is held in conjunction with the World Car of the Year Awards. All cars are chosen by a select international panel of 59 journalists. In three stages the winner will be determined. 1st select the top 10 vehicles, 2nd narrow the list to just three, 3rd the final winner is chosen from these three.

Any thoughts?

These I think will make it to the top 3:

Lamborghini LP560-4 Gallardo
Nissan GT-R
Porsche 911 Carrera (due to PDK)

Obviously I would like the RS6 Avant to make it, but unfortunately I think it's unlikely.

My guess for the final three is

Corvette ZR1
Porsche 997 Carrera
Nissan GTR

Reasons: ZR1 has incredible performance for it's price, matching or bettering most of the Hyper cars on sale today. 997 Mk2 has made such an amazing improvement over the previously similar model in both performance and economy and finally the GTR for proving that the Japanese can take on the establishment and win.

Winner of this will be the GTR.
