I've recently found some kind of interesting offer from Wetterauer for RS4 and S4 8E :mech:

But something I can't understand... It's not a supercharged engine, where you can just increase the boost pressure. So where do they "find" this extra power and torque? Less fuel or ecologically efficient? They say it isn't. But if it's all ways better, why Audi themselves make not the best possible chip?
And one more thing - the more well-known tuners - Abt and MTM don't have chips for not charged engines. It's also a sign.
So what do you think about it - chips for not charged engine is a fiction or true?

True especially if it's connected with pipes cut

its simply linked with the facts that AUDI takes a lot of precautions to set their ECu mappings to cope with bad gas quality only available in certain parts of the world+ extra precaution for the clutch on the first three gears.

by changing the timings yo ucan get +22 to 25hp on a RS4 V8 and up to about +30 Nm

in the first three gears the throttle flap is seriously limited until 5000 rpms, so lifting the limt from 60 to 80% of its maximum really give the car a lot ofmore fun...

We tried this on our demo car and since then have done quite some RS4 V8... each time the owner would leave, a smile on its face traduces the reality of the modifications. of course its not as drastic as with the old RS4 B5 (+1000 Nm easiliy ), but it can be felt with no doubt...

Not sure we've got good fuel quality here:)

you do need 98 octane quality to run these optimized mappings.

I always use 98 octane, but here in Russia i'm afraid it's not pretty the same 98 as in Europe...

the only way to find out it to take some samples from different pumps and have it analyzed and you will know for sure...

That's quite an effort))
