Hi guys, I am new to this site and will soon be required to configue my new R8, It will either be White or Sprint Blue and I would really love this Silver Carbon treatment. Does anyone know where I can get it as my dealer has no idea.

I have seen red Carbon, so why not grey and exclusive can make anything you're willing to pay for;)

Dear RXBG,

i did a little research based on the pictures above. The carbon parts shown are made by Elite Carbon USA. You can choose between several colors: f.e. black-, red- and silver carbon. Having seen one or another part they made, i have to admit that their work is clean and precisely fitting.

In the USA some Tuners offer these parts, like:

In Germany PPI Automotive Design is offering similar products.

To the best of my knowledge, there are no plans to offer other carbon color choices as OE parts.

go to the audi exclusive options and you can get what you want...

now if you take a sorint bluec color it will look much better with standrad carbon side blades. but if you tke it white (suzika grey of course I supose), then both will look godd.

what looks to be white carbon is very often in fact not made of carbon but its same techinqie but using aluminum fiber. the result is indeed as if it was white carbon;

here are two picxs of parts taylor made for a Porsche boxter 986 with alumiinum fiber:

There's a company in Ohio called Fiberglast (http://www.fiberglast.com) - they sell colored composites.

Here's Aluminized Fiberglass (http://www.fibreglast.com/showproducts-category-Aluminized%20&%20Black%20Fiberglass-132.html)

I have used the colored Kevlar/carbon weaves (http://www.fibreglast.com/showproducts-category-Kevlar%20&%20Hybrid%20Fabrics%20&%20Tapes-14.html) in a couple items.

I laid up the last two layers of my desert race car's hood and a couple of guitars with the blue/black Kevlar/carbon weave.
