spent a few weeks trying to located a sprint blue / navi / tech package rs4 and finally i have found it, 600 miles away.

it's an 07 with 19k miles and fully certified until 100k miles.

i plan to keep the look fairly stock, but i have question about ecu/chip upgrades..

are there any chips for the rs4 or only a flash? i searched but found hardly any info. if flash only, what are my options and estimated power gains?

is it worth upgrading exhaust? i was thinking of Milltek full valved exhaust with either milltek downpipes/cats OR milltek exhaust/valve with custom downpipe and no cats.. how will it sound with no cats verses milltek downpipes/cat?

any gains from using aftermarket intake filter? i know there is limited mods out there but looking for subtle mods with possible gains..

thanks!

Chip isnt worth much on the rs4 in terms of peak power, people claim its improved under the curve but its good for maybe 10-15hp tops. Exhaust is a much better upgrade and is worth around 20hp, downpipes ive heard dont do much besides increase the noise.

In all if you do downpipe, exhuast, chip, you can expect 40-50hp more. My friend had more problems with a K&N filter in his rs4, I've just kept mine stock and taken the flap out of the bottom of the airbox.

The car will give errors without cats, it will even give errors with 100 cell race cats.

hmm ok thanks for the info.

i'd like to get the SS suspension. it was never an option in US i don't think... how much does it cost and will audi dealer install it if i can get it?

im considering suspension first so i'd like to hear if anyone in the US has it and where they got it from and who installed it.. will audi warranty it?

this car has sensors in the rear bumper i don't really like the appearance of them but i guess it's a handy feature..

sorry for all the questions, but here is a pic of the car, im so anxious to get it in my hands..

DO NOT get anything DRC suspension, replace it with Stasis SL for $2500 for your best performance for the cost. The DRC suspension is flawed and will fail. As for the parking sensors as far as I know all RS4 have them.

Congrats on a awesome car - and I love that color!

So the RS4 has the problem-riddled DRC like the RS6?

I also have a 2007 RS4, I outfitted mine with KW3 Coil Overs V3s (http://www.kw-suspension.com/en/30_Products/20_KW_Coilovers/index.php) (http://www.kw-suspension.com/en/30_Products/20_KW_Coilovers/index.php))

and a Hotchkis roll bar Front & Rear for the suspesions..I love it! On the chip I was considering Revo software but elected to wait a bit. Exhaust I plan on getting the gmg http://www.gmgracing.com/audi_exhaust_gmg_wcrs4.shtml Miltek is overpriced.

I am on the east-coast so I went to KMD tunning www.kmdtuning.com

Yes it has the S button. You can get exhaust without the valves, just plug the vacuum lines. Or you could get MTM or Milltek with valves and keep them.

I haven't been thrilled with KMD lately, their quality of work has gone way down. They leave lots of bolts and other fasteners loose, and did that on my allroad. Also the water pump they put on my A6 failed after 17,000 miles.

Wow, will remember that. I am going to look for a shop in NY where I am at. Know of any good ones?

Now I have no experience with these guys but I've heard nothing but praise from them http://www.tyrolsport.com/ and they are in NY too.

I suggest you port and polish the inlet manifold (and depending on how serious you are, the head) before you bother with the chip.

The quality of the internal finish is shocking.

You will gain ~25hp from this process alone.

See http://www.rs246.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=73889

This is the ultimate reason B7's have never produced the quoted 414hp. In fact I don't know of a single stock car that has produced more than 400hp here in the UK.

Even R8's don't produce the numbers.
