I would like to see a TT Mk3 but i doubt it.
With the change from a transverse front engine to a longitudinal mid engine car there will also be a change in name.

OK, the TT Mk3 is gone, we all can pretty much guess this will happen. But how will the R3 and R4 look? That is the question.

At the moment too little is known about them other than they will share a lot with future Porsche models. Correct me if I am wrong but these cars will have to share quite a bit of exterior similarities like dimensions but they don't use a separate chassis, the body shell is that chassis and the only really difference will be the exterior panels.

So basically what I am saying it you should see some similarities between the two and if their photoshops look dramatically different then chances are one or both are wrong.

As for the change from transverse front engine to a longitudinal mid engine, I think the sales will drop as their practicality will have gone out the window.

There is a lot uncertainty about the R3/TT/R4.
Based on info the R3 should be based on the small VW Roadster in the size/weight of a Lotus elise.
The future of the TT is unknown, it will always be a Golf in a nice suit.
Futher there it not much room for it, if bigger it's in the way of the A5.
The R4/Boxster/Cayman will all be based on a adapted R8 platform if the info is correct.
With inline-4, inline-5 and V6 TFSI engines for the Audi R4 Quattro and inline-4 and flat-6 for Porsche Boxster/Cayman with RWD. (it's almost not posible to have a mid engined flat 6 with 4WD)

The R4 will be my car of the future if it come's.
It reminds me of the Audi Quattro Spider, the car that had to yield for the TT.

This baby r8 aka r4 reminds me of the second generations of Toyota MR2 and Pontiac Fiero! Too bad!

What about theory that A5 will go up the scale, to compete with 6 series and ''sharpened'' E class coupe, while next TT will get bigger and will be there to tackle 3 series coupe and C class coupe...?

The Pretender

That will not work even when the TT change to Longitudinal engine layout, the TT is a 2+2 car, the 3-serie and C-Class coupes are 4 seaters.

Maybe next will be 4 seater...?

Even the A5 is cramped in the back and that is a 275 cm WB car, 28 cm more WB then the TT.
Don't see that happen.

the TT is designed to be an SLK, Z4, and Boxster competitor. i don't think that will change for the next generation regardless of what its called. what could very well change is the number of seats. i don't think it'll have those in order to maximize it as a performance car.

This is the scenario i'm hoping for:

The TT Mk3 will use the floorplan of the quattro Concept.
Imagine the quattro Concept with the TT Mk2 roofline, i think it would look awesome.
I'm keep hoping because the TT Mk2 was first showed as a Shooting Brake Concept.

Both are quattro concepts with TT roof, one has TT rear lights, the other has quattro concept lights...

I think it could work.
Further you get a far better TT with longitudinal engines, real quattro, sport rear diff, with a rear-bias power delivery.
The TT Mk3 would be a much better match for cars like SLK, Z4, Boxter.

Last info indicates that the TT3 will be a evolution of the TT2.
It will be lighter, slightly larger, more powerfull and more up-scale.
It also indicates that the TT-S will get a 300 hp 2.0TFSI engine and the next TT RS will get a 408 hp 2.5TFSI engine.

Again, magic figure, 408 hp! :)

i expect the next S4/S5 to get that 400hp engine and weigh 3500 lbs. i don't know if the quattro concept will really be made in the way we expect it.

There are even rumours that the the quattro Concept can end up on the longitudinal mid engine floorplan of the e-tron V6 TDI spider and be called the R5.
