View Full Version : Dealer f***ed up my winter wheel set

The dealer totally screwed over my winter wheels. They were being stored in their wheel depot and they took them out to balance them and I could have just cried. They look 10 years old, seems people have been chucking them around on concrete. Big chunks of alloy are missing. I'm very very p***ed off...

Anyway - they have until tomorrow to offer me a new set or give me the money that I payed for them. Only that will perhaps ensure that they keep my business.

Anyway - my winter 235/40 tires are fine. But they were mounted on the 8x19" wheels. I have my summer 9x19 inchers - do you guys think the tires will fit without problems? 235mm of tire vs. 228mm of wheel - seems ok?

I'm planning to put them on my 9x19s, designate them for winter work and get a new set of wheels for the summer.

Suggestions welcome. :)

(I've been toying around with the idea of getting Techart 8.5x19 for next winter instead. Any ideas if they will fit with a proper adapter?)

19" wheels are compulsory for me - ceramic brakes won't accept 18".

Just got a call - they're going to fix the wheels. Paint them again and make them look "brand new". Oh well - we'll see next week.

They lost my business though - they just don't know it yet. :(

Repainted wheels wont be nowhere near as rough as originally coated.
I would never accept that offer.

Painting won't fix big chunks out of the alloy - as per your first post.

I worry it's too late, but you should absolutely not even let them try to do that. They owe you the money or set, whichever you want, plain and simple. Threatening bad Internet publicity wouldn't be a bad idea :hihi:
